I stayed at the Sapporo Washington Plaza Hotel from February 8th to 10th and the Roo Sakura Hotel from February 10th to 12th. Let me share my feelings respectively: Washington Hotel: Advantages: 1. It is relatively close to JR Sapporo Station. The hotel is about 500 meters away from the entrance of the JR station. The overall travel calculation is convenient. 2. The hotel is newer and the facilities and equipment will be easier to use, but the air conditioning operation sound is louder than that of Luying Hotel. 3. The indoor space can expand a 28-inch suitcase, but it will slightly affect the passage. 4. There are two magnetic stickers on the inner door. One means that the room will not be cleaned today, and the other means that the towels will not be changed. You can stick them outside the door. If the door is not cleaned, the waiter will put new bath towels, towels, pajamas, disposable slippers, etc. door. Much better than some hotels in Tokyo that don't clean for three days by default. Disadvantages: 1. The price of booking a week in advance does not come with breakfast for more than 1,000 per night. The price is more expensive than Luying. It cost nearly 3K on the first night of junior high school, so I temporarily changed to Luying. 2. The service depends on the person. When I checked in, I asked if I could store my luggage when I checked out. The waiter said no. I had to spend money to rent a luggage locker at the JR station. Then I saw people checking out during the check-in process and every day for the next two days. Storing luggage at the hotel is amazing! 3. For me, it is a fatal flaw. The toilet is very small and probably not the standard size for adults. When squatting, the toilet seat will touch the front toilet seat, which is extremely uncomfortable. Luying Hotel Advantages: 1. The location is closer to JR Sapporo Station, just cross the street as soon as you go out. 2. In winter, the air conditioner is very warm when it is set to 20 degrees Celsius, and it has no running sound and is not noisy. 3. You can take a bath in the free bath on the first floor (there is also a bathtub in the room). 4. The indoor space is okay, and the 28-inch suitcase can be unfolded without affecting movement (unfolded in the corner). 5. I temporarily booked this hotel before the Spring Festival and stayed at the hotel on the first and second days of junior high school. The average price is more than 700, including free breakfast, and the next few days are only more than 500. 6. The service is very good. The waiter will take out a portable translator if he doesn't understand. 7. You can also choose not to clean the room and put towels at the door. Disadvantages: 1. The hotel's facilities are a bit old, and the design is not as convenient as new hotels. For example, there are no sockets at the bedside, and there are two separate faucets for hot and cold water. You need to open them separately and adjust the size to combine the water temperature. 2. The door very close to the window seems to be the outer wall of the school, and there is no view at all. To sum up: If you are traveling and basically play outside during the day and sleep when you come back at night, I think Luying is very cost-effective. In addition, if you are skiing, it will be much more convenient to drag your skis to jr Luying and come back at night. Taking a bath in the bathhouse can also relieve fatigue. If you spend more time in the guest room and don't consider the price and toilet issues, you'd better choose Washington, which has relatively...
Read morePicked this hotel mainly because of the location, basically to minimize walking in the cold, since my parents might not be able to take the cold for a long period of time. And just like what other travelers mentioned, it's literally a less than 5 mins walk from the JR Sapporo Station North Exit on the west side. We also tried the underground exit 8 from Level B2, which was also extremely convenient for people who would like to avoid the slippery icy road or to avoid getting shoes wet when the snow/ice melts. ||||We stayed in the main building. Standard Japanese business hotel size and style. We are quite used to this kind of size. Although it was a little challenging to lay two 25 inch luggage on the floor at the same time but we managed to move the furniture around to create space. ||||Bed was comfortable. Toiletries, towels, bathrobe, slippers were provided. I love to use their antimicrobial and odor removal clothing spray too. ||||Coffee machine readily available at the lobby 24/7. Breakfast buffet was good with wide selection of food, although they don't change the menu a lot each day. I love the Hokkaido rice. ||||Room was clean and cozy. No window view due to very close proximity to the building next door. Not too sure if it was because we stayed in a corner room, the room was always very chilly and it took time to warm the room up after we got back. Not too big of a problem for us, but might be difficult for people who can't tolerate the cold well. On the other hand, my parents' room next door was always too warm even though the heater was not even turned on. ||||Wifi signal was strong and consistent even though we were the last room at the corridor. Guess they have a router in every room. ||||Overall, will definitely recommend this mid range business hotel...
Read moreFor Japan, this is a good enough sized room and it was clean and well located. Don’t expect 5 star accommodations given the price but bed was big enough, comfortable and we were able to request for extra towels and pillows. Water is potable.||This is right across the JR Sapporo station, which is why we booked it. ||It had a small free onsen for guests which was open from 5pm to 2am and 5am to noon (not too sure till what time since I already checked out before 7). It was easier to shower in the onsen since it was roomier than the bathroom in the room. There were just 5 shower stalls and 2 sinks in the women’s onsen so it could get a little crowded.||There is coin laundry and dryer in the men’s and women’s onsen area. It was 200yen for a load and 100yen per 30mins dryer use.||There’s a microwave downstairs next to the vending machine and the free coffee in the lobby is pretty good. Breakfast was adequate. ||The restaurant onsite was pretty good. Nice ambiance, price same as other restaurants in the mall though the menu pics looked more generous than the actual portions served. ||Overall good place to stay esp if you want to be near the Sapporo station and easy access to the malls...
