|This modern guesthouse had it's own onsen and a lift to rooms on the higher floors. |Our spacious room was traditional Japanese. There are no ensuite facilities, the toilets in Japan are exceptionally clean, and the shared basin area was always available when needed. We slept well. |The property has its own Onsen, which was very welcome after a day of hiking, as was their icy cold beer.|The Youmine ancient onsen, the oldest hot spring in Japan, is across the road. Our evening meal and breakfast were fresh and delicious japanese food served in the dining room. Our host's English was limited, but with the help of Google translator, they went out of their way to help us explore wet weather options if needed. Our forwarded luggage had a handwritten note thanking us for our stay. We would definitely stay at Takiyoshi again if we return...
Read moreWe spent one night with two served meals yesterday. Equipped with onsen, the guest house was clean and tidy, making it a perfect place for travellers to rest before their next journey. The food prepared by the host was gorgeous, in particular the tofu and chicken hot pot and the tempura onion - would definitely wish to come back just for the food. The beddings and the yukata smelled very nice. The hosts were friendly and polite. They could speak some English. The lady receiving us was pretty and nice. She introduced us to the onsen nearby and to try the onsen eggs with the salt. We like this place a lot as it made us feel like home. Strongly recommended for travellers and people who want to enjoy a comfortable and homey vocation. The hospitality shall make...

The rooms are classic Ryokan but with air conditioning and a nice modern feel. Evening meal was either 6 or 6:30 and was ready when I got down at 6.30. Excellent meal, one of the best I’ve had and lots of it too. The dining area is western with a nice cosy/modern feel and looks new. The onsen is lovely and the toilet seat opens up as you open the door!! I need one for my house! I’ve stayed in 5 pensions and Ryokens since I’ve been here and it’s by far the best. If your coming to Yunomine onsen then this...
