Tokushima Ramen Menoh Tokushima Ekimae Main Store — Restaurant in Tokushima

This was not a chance encounter. I was told prior to my arrival by the locals that this was a Tokushima-style ramen shop. They explained that it was a little like sukiyaki broth but thicker and without any sweetness.

So, the ramen as a whole was in a thick gravy instead of a broth. It was rich and very different from what one would expect when hearing the word "ramen".

The noodles had a nice texture and a great chewyness that was excellent for the style of broth that it had.

The staff was friendly! They even gave me a little coupon for a free topping for the next time I show up. It was my last night so I am sad to say that I was unable to use it again. I would have gladly returned.

Now, for us English speakers, there is a kiosk to buy tickets. Very easy to use!

Buy the ticket, sit down somewhere in the shop, hand the ticket to one of the staff, wait for the ramen, and eat! That's all you have...

Definitely worth coming here for Tokushima ramen - it blew me away!!!

The soup base was rich and flavourful, the noodles were thin and matched the soup base perfectly. There were 2 kinds of Chashu and both were delicious. I ordered the “special ramen” (¥1100) and my wife ordered the Tokushima ramen (¥750).

The staff were great - very friendly and welcoming. Big smiles all around.

You order your food through a vending machine located outside of the restaurant - credit cards accepted.
