We stayed here for 9 days. Excellent service 👏.

  1. Friendly frontdesk staffs. They are so friendly. My niece required 2nd small booklet of paper to draw as she lost her first booklet provided in hotel room. They tried their very best to understand what we would like to have, and they really give a new booklet to my little niece.
  2. Fast check in and out. They explained to us the date of housekeeping and written on the paper card holder of room card.
  3. Literally just 1 or 2 mins walking distance from Akabane South exit. Best!!!
  4. Don Don Donki is just beside the next building. Family Mart, just at the left side of hotel, so many restaurants and stores surrounding the hotel.
  5. They provide free ochazuke from 8pm till 10pm from Mon to Thurs, free afternoon tea too. Honestly, so so nice and we took for 2nd round!! They never show angry face or show us any attitude. I really love their hospitality.I like their rice with so many toppings (feel free to take). They are so kind and helpful.
  6. They provide free hair oil, lotion, face wash, varieties of tea, coffee, sugar, creamer, combs, stirrer, toothbrush with toothpaste, room slippers just beside the check in counter. So friendly and lovely gesture!!! This can help hotel guest a lot!!! Thank you so much. My hair is frizzy, I really need the hair oil so much. The honey tea is really perfect drink. I love it so so much.
  7. They cleaned our room perfectly fine and tidy.
  8. There are breakfast buffet too at affordable price. Why is this hotel so nice? Taking care of our stomach. Thank you!!
  9. Level B1 has spa, you can find laundry machine too at other level. You can even find ice machine too.
  10. The hotel staffs allowed us to put our luggage first at the lobby area which is perfectly safe and tagged it with a tag.
  11. They topped up free water for us at the 4th day of our stay.
  12. They provide hairdryer, towel, hand towels, foot towel, kettle ( super important as we are travelling with little kid, we need it to make milk for kid), 3 water cups, 3 coffee cups, desk lamp, 3 teeth brushing cups. You can feel they are super thoughtful.
  13. TV is available too, and the TV showed the directory around the hotel, super travel friendly hotel.
  14. The water flow is so strong and hair shampoo , conditioner and body shampoo are avaliable.
  15. Toilet bowl is another lovely and environment friendly service. There are small flush, moderate flush, bigger flush. Toilet paper are provided too.
  16. There are quite a lot of USB charging outlet, basically I did not use my universal adaptor at all. So convenient.
  17. Beds are so comfortable and the light at the handwashing sink is sensor mode, I love this environment sustainable move by the hotel.
  18. I really love the stay over here. Will come back again!! Thank you everyone. To all the staffs, you guys are so kind, friendly and deserve more. You all did...

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE — BED BUGS AND COMPLETE NEGLIGENCE. STAY AWAY.

I’ve traveled a lot, and I’ve never had to write a negative review — until now. This was the worst hotel experience of my life, and I feel obligated to warn others.

I discovered a bed bug in my room. Just one — but if you know anything about bed bugs, you know seeing one means there’s likely more, or worse: eggs in the mattress, bedding, or luggage. The situation is serious. Yet the staff treated it like a joke.

I spent two nights unable to sleep, worried and checking all my belongings, because if these bugs got into my clothes or suitcase, they could follow me home. I now have to wash every single item I brought with me — two full suitcases — just to be safe.

When I told the staff, they acted like this was completely normal. The manager was cold, rude, and dismissive. No apology. No real concern. Their only response? "It’s probably just one." Seriously? Do they think bed bugs live alone?

They refused to refund any of my nights and only offered 2,000 yen (about $13) — and only after I insisted — to cover laundry costs. An insult, really.

I called Agoda and they contacted the hotel on my behalf, but the hotel still didn’t care. They claimed they hired a professional to inspect the room — but when I asked for a report or proof, they had nothing to show. No invoice, no document, no evidence. Most likely, they never called anyone. They just wanted me to shut up and go away.

I’m lucky I took a photo of the bed bug as proof. Otherwise, they would’ve gaslit me into thinking I imagined it. But even with that photo, they refused to take action.

This place is a disaster, and the way they handle serious hygiene issues is completely unacceptable. If you care about your health, your belongings, and your peace of mind, do not stay here.

You work hard for your money — spend it at a place that deserves it. Don’t let your vacation turn into a nightmare...

I stayed in a double room for 5 nights. Firstly I must say it was the best deal I found among all of the hotels in Tokyo in October last year. Although Akabane wasn’t located in the heart of Tokyo, it was only half an hour by train to the popular tourist spots like Shibuya and Shinjuku. And the fact that this hotel was located right next to the Akabane train station, it was convenient for tourists at an extremely affordable price!

Secondly, the room was designed smartly with automatic lightning, and a standing shower room separated from the toilet and washing basin (which I always preferred when visiting Japan).

What I mentioned above were what I expected from looking at the hotel’s website, and also what I experienced during my stay. Now onto something unexpected and what I disliked the most - the size of the room. So the room was extremely, extremely small for 2 persons. I know how small the hotel rooms in Tokyo usually were, but this was another level. I have never been to a double room this tiny! Don’t expect to be able to leave your suitcase out at the corridor as there wouldn’t be any space for you to stand. The desk was too tiny to put stuff for 2 persons too. I felt suffocated needing to do everything on my bed - from reading, eating, watching TV to working on my phone! By the way there was no room for a sitting chair too. I also didn’t like how the air conditioner was directly blowing towards my head so I couldn’t turn it up high, and the room always felt so stuffy and made me drowsy. Naturally I hated staying in the room.

Other than the room, the receptionists needed more hospitality training. Even though I saw many international tourists staying at the hotel, the staff’s English was inadequate. They misinterpreted my booking details and charged my reservation at a higher exchange rate.

Overall, I would only return to this hotel as my last resort when I go to Tokyo again...

Nice modern economy hotel with a few superficial design touches (wood counters, warm lights, modern budget coffee shop vibe in reception) Booked double room which be warned is just too small for 2 people, and rather cell like with the bed as you enter, and the bathroom etc utilising the windows and natural light. Essentially a terrible design that should only be an economy single. This type does not feature much - if at all - on the website. However, there are better laid out rooms in same price category., though still small and missing simple things like a coat hook, luggage space, shelf etc. and impractical shower door, but room pleasant modern with good tv you can cast to. This room disparity is probably why reviews very variable. Didn’t have breakfast, but looked reasonable- mix of Japanese and western. Hotel is quite far from Tokyo centre, but actually very quick on the very close big modern station with JR trains, meaning often easier and quicker to go places than more central hotels. I noticed airport bus stop too. Shopping malls near by, and lots of eating places, bakeries, coffee shops etc. Area has local straightforward friendly vibe. Not a trendy area. Lots of young Japanese seem to be here in our stay, so not a western tourist area or hotel either. I would recommend if you want a reasonably priced functional modern hotel in handy very well connected area. Pictures show the larger standard double.
