Reservation made through Agoda. Property is not staffed at all. Reservation not recognized by computer system. Telephone contact for property doesn’t work and email contact is not offered in English.
On top of it all the address given works for Google maps and in Apple Maps sends you across town.
We will have to scramble to find new lodging tonight.
*update. We submitted this charge to Amex as a dispute. I am surprised that the hotel did not automatically refund the charge. The lobby was filled with angry and frustrated customers who were unable to check in. The only way to get help from this property was an in person I pad with a spotty connection. This was connected to a call center somewhere.
There is no plan in place for in person help if there is a problem like this. I wouldn’t take the risk.
** update
The owners have responded via email and take no credible responsibility for the problems encountered by my family or the many other families in the lobby stuck that day. They have deflected blame to Agoda. I do believe Agoda gives the wrong address and doesn’t forward proper check in email prior to arrival. There is still a massive issue with the hotel not having customer support that answers the phone and a communication tool in the lobby that has poor connection issues. Your door code is also not private when you check in through the iPad I. The lobby and is left for anyone to see after check in.
I can tell you that it was multiple families unable to check in on the day we were there for hours.
Any business that cannot acknowledge a problem and take actual responsibility for it, is not a business to trust your family...

The size was large enough to hold 3 2 let bottles in the door. Newish furniture. Modern bordering on minimalist decor. It would be a nice studio apartment for a Batchelor wanting to impress a date. One of the fancier toilets I've ever experienced. View of Tokyo sky tree.1/4 mile to 2 subway stations and big supermarket and Ameyko street yet you don't feel your in a tourist trap.there are 4 washers available For only 56 rooms!||Bad--or at least not so good...there is no daily housekeeping : to change the trash you notify the "office" and leave the trash outside the door for pick up and you get a new trash bag. The "front Desk"is not staffed physically. Transactions --check in, check out, etc are done via QR code. Front desk when the person is present may not speak English well ; you call a more proficient English soaker via a tablet at the front desk or e-mailing of texting them. I found e-mailing communication the most reliable and helpful.||Tldr: this is nice place to stay to do laundry and if you are used to air bnb where you don't get...
Read moreLast hotel we stayed at during our stay in Japan. Comparing this hotel to all the other places we stayed at I’d rate Minn Ueno as a 1/10||Confusing check-in. (unmanned reception). If you don’t have an IPhone you check in via the IPad at reception - this didn’t work properly - and eventually a very annoyed person came from the back room. We felt very unwelcome. |I noticed same issues with other guests checking in during our stay.||Basic Kitchen, but lacked utensils, cups and frypan. |pillows hard/lumpy, Doona had a musty smell. |Only one bath towel & hand towel per person for length of stay.|Had an issue with Wifi log in, emailed for help solving this issue and told to go to reception and lodge request by IPad. Again IPad not working properly and no interest in helping solve this very basic issue. ||Overpriced considering lack of service and facilities in room. ||The laundry was good, the location was good||I’ve noticed Minn Ueno hide negative comments/complaints… so expect my feedback will probably...
