My experience with this Ryokan is rather disappointing, because they didn't tell us in advance that they don't accommodate dietary requirements and are not able to provide vegetarian breakfast.
We booked our stay a few months in advance and got a message asking for dietary requirements and food allergies. I replied immediately, requesting a vegetarian breakfast, but didn't get a response until 2 weeks before our stay.
They simply told us there wouldn't be vegetarian breakfast. This was a surprise, since other hotels provided very delicious vegetarian Japanese breakfast. At this point we were already traveling and it was impossible to find other accommodations in Kinosaki Onsen.
What bothers me is not so much that they don't accommodate our requests, but that they didn't care to write this in the hotel information or to contact us immediately after I made the reservation/request.
If I had known in advance, I would not have made the reservation. And if I had known early enough, I could have found another ryokan in Kinosaki Onsen. Now, I can't visit at all and have to change my entire...

When we went down for dinner we were told they don't serve food even though they were setting up tables, kind of a bummer since it was the priciest stay of our trip and we believed the price came with meals. We've reached out to the third party booking site but it...
