I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming traditional hotel near Lake Yamanaka, and I can confidently say it was one of the most delightful experiences of my travels. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that felt genuinely personal, likely from the owner themselves, who took the time to ensure every guest felt at home.
The hotel, while quite basic in terms of amenities, exudes a quaint charm that perfectly complements its beautiful surroundings. The rooms are equipped with traditional futon beds, which were surprisingly comfortable and provided a wonderful night’s sleep. Waking up to the serene view of Lake Yamanaka from my room's balcony was an experience I will cherish. The sight of the lake, with its gentle ripples reflecting the morning light, made for a peaceful start to each day.
The location of the hotel could not be more convenient. Nestled right by the lakeside, it offers easy access to scenic walks and breathtaking views of Mount Fuji, which is truly a sight to behold. While many travelers flock to more popular spots, I found Lake Yamanaka to be an underrated gem. The tranquility of the area allowed for a more intimate experience with nature, away from the hustle and bustle of more tourist-heavy locations.
The service was exceptional; the owner’s attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction truly stood out. They were always available to provide recommendations for local attractions and dining, and their passion for the area made my stay even more enjoyable.
Overall, if you’re looking for a traditional and basic hotel experience that offers excellent service, stunning views, and a perfect location by the lake, I wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem at Lake Yamanaka. It’s a perfect retreat for anyone seeking peace, beauty, and an authentic taste of Japanese hospitality. I can’t...
Read moreAMAZING STAFF I stayed at a Glamping village near by but arrived in town about 15 minutes after the check in deadline. I frantically was trying to figure out what to do. I decided to stay a night at this Hotel, but when a staff member named Pierre heard my situation and all he wanted to do was help regardless of me offering to pay for a room. Pierre helped me call the Glamping Village since I didn’t speak Japanese. After calling a couple times without an answer he personally took me in his own car to the camp site and made sure I was able to get checked in. I can’t express enough how amazing this was. The staff were extremely friendly and cared more about helping me than anything else. They treated me like family. Genuinely top tier service. If you stay here you can rest assure your every need will be taken care of. I booked this hotel for my next trip because of this experience....

The onsen is really nice but the outdoor bath is closed - from the pictures I expected an open one!
From the picture of the room we expected a lot more, it is old, yes but it definitely does not look like in the reviews (maybe we got a not so nice room) Also overall the hotel could be cleaner...
Also their offerings could improve Bike rental, there is no bike rental nearby. They offer e scooters but I would not rely on a escooter to go around the lake. Breakfast and dinner options, vegetarian would be awesome! English speaking staff, I saw 3-4 people trying to communicate with non-Japanese speaking guests, it was not easy
Nevertheless, the Location at the lake is nice, it is good reachable from...
