Modern and Quirky Decor, Comfortable Beds, Good Showers Rooms on a given floor are in a different configuration, so while the hotel is definitely not a large-scale “cookie-cutter” hotel, you may have varying sizes of rooms (including the bathrooms) depending upon your reservation and the timing of your arrival. Nonetheless, the La Laconda has very comfortable rooms, a pleasant and professional staff, and a reasonably good location. The restaurant leaves a bit to be desired, but the food and service are adequate. Location The La Locanda Boutique Hotel is located about 37km from the Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, so you will need to take a taxi or car service. The hotel is located near the top of one of Amman’s hills, near the King Abdullah Mosque and 2km from downtown. It’s an easy walk to the downtown restaurants, but you may want to take a taxi back up the hill to the hotel if you’re weary of walking or full from your dinner. Most of the downtown hotels are youth hostels or low-end hotels, so I recommend staying in the area of the La Laconda, even if you choose the InterContinental, Amman Rotana, Le Grand Accor, Grand Hyatt, etc. Check-In We arrived at the hotel early, so our room was not yet ready. The hotel staff expedited the cleaning of a room, and stored our luggage until the room was going to be available. The check-in process itself was quite efficient, and the staff is very friendly and speaks fluent English, in addition to their native Arabic. Lobby The lobby has a combination of modern furniture and quirky décor, such as an antique telephone switchboard cabinet. Rooms As mentioned in my summary, the room sizes vary due to the unique layout of the floor plans. During our first stay, we had a room with twin beds and a very small, but functional, bathroom and shower. The closet was quite large, though. There were few electrical outlets available for guest use, so we were glad that we had brought along our travel multi-outlet mini-extension cords. During our second stay (at the end of our trip in Jordan), we had a much larger room with a king-sized bed, more electrical outlets for guest use, and a good-sized bathroom and shower. Since the hotel is clearly converted from an older building, our first-floor room, which, I assume, was the roof of the prior building, had rock-brick planters (that had fake flowers, but real dirt) and a corresponding rock-brick platform around the bed. These rough bricks in the room were not practical since one could easily scrape a leg or foot against the stones. Complimentary coffee and tea were provided, as was a bottle of water per day per guest. Bathroom During our first stay, the bathroom was quite compact, with no counter or storage space for one’s personal toiletry kit. However, the shower size was adequate, and the water pressure was excellent. During our second stay, the room itself was larger, as was the bathroom; but, again, there was little storage for personal toiletry kits. Dining/Bar Option The restaurant/bar is located just off the lobby, with an entrance from the front of the hotel, as well. Even though we visited during Ramadan, meals were served throughout the day. The restaurant is more of a pub than a full-scaled dining facility. The dinner menu had dozens of choices for meals, which always gives me pause in a hotel because I know that a kitchen staff cannot be proficient in each and every dish – and the ingredients are likely not fresh. The same pub is used for breakfast, which is included in the room rate. Dishes are basic, but filling and quite adequate. Overall We liked the fact that the La Laconda was not a standard, large-scale hotel, but note that you may not have all the amenities that one of the major hotels would offer. La Laconda is a good value for the money, and it’s in a decent, residential neighborhood.

Ka Licanda in Jabal Weibdeh holds a special place in my heart. It’s not just where I stay — it’s where I feel inspired. The vibe is warm, artistic, and full of soul. I’ve stayed there eight times now, and each visit feels like stepping into a story. I’ve had the chance to meet some truly amazing people during my stays — conversations that stayed with me long after I left. The Asmahan and Fairuz rooms are my absolute favorites — beautifully designed, full of emotion, and each with its own charm. It’s a unique, beautiful hotel that always makes me feel like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

I highly reccomend to stay in this nice sweet boutique hotel! Very nice and clean rooms, great offer of local and international food served by polite, professional and kind personnel. If you stay there, don't miss live band on mondays and to visit a roof bar is "must".🙂 The only "problem" is you don't want to leave this family atmosphere🙂

Well i have travelled to so many places and stayed at more than a thousand hotels by now, and m a firm believer that every hotel has something different to offer and no one is bad until i met this one. This one is an expensive hotel which has nothing of offer except the theme based room names. When we entered, the room light was flickering and the washroom door was not closing. Their lift was also under maintenance. It took them nearly half an hour to fix the light and after 15mins the light started flickering again. Further the AC was not effective and when we called their boy, he had no clue of how to switch it on. Later one of my frnd only figured it out. N finally the worst part. The lady at the reception. We were four frnds and she forced us to first decide who is going to stay with whom and then only enter. She was very dominating and there was no feeling of hospitality. We were not welcomed. Infact in the end, they asked for a feedback in which we mentioned the problem with AC. The lady literally scolded one of our female frnds on the feedback we have given in the absence of the rest. Our frnd literally felt humiliated which she later told us. I mean why do u ask for a feedback when you cannot take it. And i have seen hotels with less amenities but atleast they were cordial. This particular had no amenities and no hospitality. Please refrain from booking it. You will get many hotels in Amman at lesser price and amazing...

We spent 3 nights at La Locanda and from our first welcome to our goodbye we found everything spot on. |Our twin room was spacious, very clean, with great air con, and a nice breakfast included too. There is an attached restaurant with a great vibe where we had drinks on night 1 and then a delicious dinner on night 2, so a real bonus and we’d highly recommend..|The location was very central and, with the hotel arranging a driver for us, via email in advance, meant we had a day doing all the sights of Amman and a day further north going to UmmQais, the truly incredible Jerash, as well as Alijoun castle and were very well looked after.|In fact the competitive rates and quality/care of the driver, and support of La Locanda, meant we built our whole 9 day Jordan itinerary (Madaba, Nebo, Petra, Red Sea, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea etc) in this way, and this ended being completely 10...
