Salah Aldian Bakery – A Hidden Gem of Amman’s Authentic Street Food

As a local tour guide who has introduced countless visitors to the flavors of Jordan, I can confidently say that Salah Aldian Bakery in Abdali is one of Amman’s must-visit culinary spots. This place is more than just a bakery—it’s an experience that captures the heart of our local food culture.

From the moment you walk in, the aroma of freshly baked kaak bread fills the air—crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, and covered in golden sesame seeds. Here, you don’t just buy a sandwich—you create your own. It’s a fun, self-serve process: grab a hot loaf straight from the oven, slice it open, and fill it with your choice of baked eggs, cheese, za’atar, olives, chili sauce, and more. It’s simple, honest food… and it’s absolutely delicious.

What makes this place special isn’t just the food, but the atmosphere. It’s open 24/7, always buzzing with locals from all walks of life—students, workers, families, and night owls. Whether it’s your first time in Amman or your hundredth, Salah Aldian offers a slice of everyday Jordanian life.

I always recommend my guests stop here for a quick bite—especially if they want to eat like a local. It’s budget-friendly, fast, and deeply authentic. Pair your kaak sandwich with a glass of mint tea and enjoy a moment of real connection with the city.

Pro tip: Go in the early morning or late evening to see the ovens in full action and feel the soul of the...

Salah Al-Din Bakery, located on Google Maps, is a hidden gem that I highly recommend visiting. With its specialty in sesame bread, this bakery offers a unique and delicious experience for bread lovers.

The aroma of freshly baked sesame bread fills the air as soon as you step inside. The bread is perfectly baked, with a crust that is golden and crispy, while the inside is soft and fluffy. It's evident that great care and expertise go into the baking process, resulting in a delightful texture and flavor.

What sets Salah Al-Din Bakery apart is the ability to customize your sesame bread by adding grilled eggs and cheese. This additional touch takes the bread to a whole new level, creating a satisfying and indulgent treat. The combination of the warm, savory bread with the smoky flavor of the eggs and the creamy richness of the cheese is simply irresistible.

To complement the bread, the bakery also offers a variety of teas and beverages. Whether you prefer a Don't hesitate to pay a visit and indulge in the unique flavors offered by Salah...

Simple, fast, tasty. Rrecommendtion - 101% Simply the best place to go for a fast and tasty ka'ek. Its a well known landmark in Amman. Totally self-serving. Get a fresh baked break, cut it open with a knife kept in the stand, take cheese kept there, spread inside the bread, take one or more baked egg from the stack, peel and put in the bread then add in salt, chilly if needed and definitely add the Zataar mix kept there and finaly...take a huge bite and enjoy!!!! You can also make tea. All things needed will be kept near the stand.

For payment- tell the cashier, the number of breads, eggs and cheese u took to make your sandwitch and pay the amount. We bought 2 breads, 4 cheese tirangles, 4 eggs and one tea. Total 2.5JD.

Keep in mind the location is crowded and finding parking can be difficult but dont miss this when you...

This 24 hours bakery gets swarmed by students and employees on their way to work, college, or school early in the morning. The process is clear, you walk towards the brick oven, grab a hot bread, move to the preparation table, peel a "baked egg" or two, add it to your freshly baked bread along with other ingredients such as Zaatar, cheese, hot sauce, salt and peppers, then move to the self-serve tea corner and get out of the bakery, eat your sandwich while standing infront of the busy bakery then recite your order to the cashier who would honor your words and charge you for what you claim. Absolutely authentic experience and a delicious sandwich!

This is a bakery that locals choose to get some sandwiches. They come and pick one from the freshly cooked bread and prepare their sandwich with the ingredients they want, eating it like a stand up breakfast or lunch with free tea. The staff was so kind and friendly, they prepared for us with oven baked eggs, cheese, tomatoes and some sauces. We didn’t have jd exchanged yet and it was not possible to pay with card but they said it is on us with such a generous attitude. We exchanged and paid for it anyway. It was 2jd for two sandwiches.
