We spent a few days (between the 25th & the 30th November) in the Olive Hotel located at Jabal Amman, 3rd Circle, behind Al Khalidi Hospital, Amman. This hotel is located around 3 to 4 Km from the City Centre. The average taxi fare from the hotel to the City Centre is 2 JoD. We found the rooms to be spacious and clean. However, the amenities such the complimentary tea/coffee sachets in the rooms are provided for the first day only. The buffet breakfast and other meals were of moderate variety and reasonably tasty. The staff was courteous. The good thing about this hotel (and I guess the same may also be true for many other hotels in Amman) is that they exchange USD into the local currency without deduction of any service charge unlike in the case of the money changers at Amman Airport.
