I recently visited Lombard, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what we expected. We attended the advertised happy hour at our hotel and hoped to enjoy the beautiful terrace, which was nearly empty. However, we were told we couldn't sit there unless we ordered dinner, despite the restaurant being mostly vacant. Instead, we were seated inside the lounge.
Initially, we were given regular menus with higher prices, and when I asked about the happy hour menu, the staff acted clueless. They eventually provided it, but by that point, the service was already off to a bad start. We had planned to order several rounds of drinks and tapas, but the experience quickly went downhill.
Throughout our 3-hour visit, it was almost impossible to get the attention of the servers. We had to nearly shout twice just to place additional orders and to get the check. When we asked to box up the remainder of our food, it took another long wait before we finally received it. After flagging down a third server. Sadly, we didn’t even get to order everything we originally planned due to the poor service.
To top it off, when we were finally leaving, we were stopped nearly immediately and told they couldn't charge the bill to our room. This created more confusion and unnecessary delays. I ended up paying cash instead, but after such a drawn-out and frustrating experience, I left extremely disappointed.
The food was just okay, and given the poor service, I can’t recommend Lombard. I had high hopes, but this visit was a...
Read moreI booked a table for 4 and I was celebrating a special occasion. We asked for the dessert menu to order desserts and coffee, after leaving us waiting for 10 minutes I asked the waiter again to bring us the dessert menu and he then informed me that we needed to order food i suggested we order a starter in addition to our 3 desserts but the waiter informed me I would need to order ATLEASTE 3 starters. He said we could sit at the “lounge area” and order desserts there. When we changed tables we then realized we were seated in the nearby cafe lounge not the same restaurant and the menu was completely different and we were not allowed to order from Lombard and eat at the lounge. After complaining they agreed to let us order and even after that there were multiple disappointments. 1. They brought us the dessert with a candle singing happy birthday when in fact it was no one’s birthday 2. The tiramisu was so below average and the chocolate Souffle had a strong after taste of raw egg. I was extremely disappointed to say the least esp since this was a...
Read moreI expected a high level of service when dining at THE LOMBARD RESTAURANT IN HAYATT AMMAN in a five-star hotel on Valentine’s Day, but unfortunately, I was met with unprofessional and rude behavior.
While my wife and I were still enjoying our evening, the manager approached our table and asked the waiter about our bill, clearly implying that they needed our table for the next guests. This was not only disruptive but also incredibly disrespectful, making us feel rushed and unwelcome. In a fine dining establishment, guests should never feel pressured to leave before they are ready.
A true five-star experience is about hospitality, respect, and making guests feel valued—not treating them like a transaction. I hope the management addresses this issue because this behavior is unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber.
This keeps it professional while making it clear that their behavior was inappropriate. Let me know if you want to...
