KIVULI VILLAS — Hotel in Kinondo ward

We booked Kivulu Villas through Booking.com for our New Year's Eve 2024/25 trip to Diani, but our experience was nothing short of a disaster.

Upon arrival, we were informed that they had no record of our booking, despite having received a confirmation from Booking.com. It quickly became apparent that no proper booking system was in place, and to make matters worse, the owner had left for Switzerland, leaving an inexperienced 18-year-old in charge - an alarming sign of mismanagement.

After some confusion, we were placed in a family room, only to be told two hours later that another family had supposedly reserved the same room. They had double-booked our accommodation. We showed our confirmation email and explained that we were a group of five adults and a baby who had booked months in advance, making it nearly impossible to find alternative accommodations during the peak holiday season.

Since the young boy was unsure how to handle the situation, he called the owner in Switzerland, who then spoke to us directly. The owner was extremely rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful, going so far as to shout at us over the phone. He claimed that the other family had already paid, so we were being forced to vacate, despite the standard "pay upon arrival" policy of Booking.com. We even offered to pay immediately.

As a result, we were kicked out with nowhere to go, having to scramble for alternative accommodations for five nights during the busiest time of the year. This was a horrible and stressful experience, and I strongly advise against booking Kivulu Villas unless you want to risk having your holiday ruined by incompetence, mismanagement, and unprofessionalism.

My friends and I had an amazing stay at Kivuli villas the housekeeper was quick to help and always ready to help 🥹 we got the chance to meet the hosts they are very lovely and hospitable people we had so much fun with them around ❤️ The three days we’ve been there were absolutely amazing. Kivuli is now my go to Villa anytime I’m in Diani. I would definitely recommend them💕 Thank you so much...

Enjoyed my stay there. Had taken 20 colleagues at the establishment. The host is so welcoming and professional. I also loved the fact that it's just walking distance...
