Sunny Side Up is one of those rare poolside spots that immediately feels right. It’s part of LALA GALU, but easily stands on its own as one of the best restaurants and bars in Diani. Everything about it feels considered yet laid-back, the kind of place where you can sit for hours without realizing how much time has passed.

The food is outstanding. The chilaquiles at breakfast are genuinely the best I’ve had anywhere (and I’ve tried plenty). Perfectly crispy, just the right heat, and somehow even better by the pool with the morning light. Their espresso martinis are equally iconic — smooth, perfectly balanced, and dangerously easy to drink. You can tell the team here loves what they do.

The setting itself is idyllic — open, breezy, framed by palms and the quiet hum of the ocean just beyond. The service is warm and intuitive, the kind that makes you feel instantly looked after without ever being over the top.

Whether you’re staying at LALA GALU or just passing through Diani, Sunny Side Up is a total must. It’s easygoing, unpretentious, and hits that perfect sweet spot between beachside comfort and quietly excellent food. If I could teleport back for one more breakfast and an afternoon by the pool, I...

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. First of all, we waited over an hour for our food to arrive, and when it finally came, the pasta looked and tasted like it was made from leftovers scraped together from different plates and reheated—not fresh at all.

The service was just as bad. We ordered a main dish, and the waiter asked if we wanted a side. We chose French fries, assuming it was included, but we were later surprised with an extra charge—no one informed us that sides were billed separately.

Overall, the quality of the food, the long wait, and the poor communication from the staff made this one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. Definitely not...

This was one of my favourite places in Diani / Galu. It is definitely on the upper class category, with pricier options. Food is good and it gets to you very quickly. The service is amazing, with very kind and attentive staff. Pool was also quite small, but bice.
