New Swanga Lodge — Hotel in Nairobi

Very pathetic, 1, staff ( out of 7 only 1 I can recommend) 2, they like poking their nose into people's business 3, tribal.

Here is my review for the past 6 months checked on 20th November to date. Bed and breakfast is 1300 Kenya shillings. I don't take their breakfast so I pay 1000 bob don't forget I'm talking about the past 6 Months.

In the past 6 months twice I have not paid on time and let me tell you, the first encounter was when my friend came to visit me and was denied entry AND TOLD HIM I had NOT PAID FOR THE ROOM I OWE THEM. My question is was it my guest who hired their hotel room or it was me? They denied him entry and demanded him to PAY so he could visit. I'm talking about 6k ONLY.

On the second encounter, they can't allow anyone to bring food or even me to go out of the premises don't forget I have been here for 6 months and they close the main door so u cannot get out, HEARTLESS PEOPLE..it's not that one is running away yet been paying daily. It's like I'm in prison!!

Let's go back I said tribal up there, yes they're I remember in the first encounter I was told to cross on to the next side where I would get a KIKUYU hotel owned by a person who comes from my home area. Also, the same people said NOBODY should do laundry for me remember not free I used to pay but any other guest around they washed and ironed for them and paid their workers.. they even fired the one who used to do laundry for me just because they were insecure and thought the lady was always talking about them but the truth is the lady needed help she knew I had a network.

2 days ago the same came up again..one staff goes by the name of Bernice said "There're a lot of hotels around why don't you clear and go to another hotel"She continued " Dont u have family, relatives etc" My question is why do u think when I checked in I didn't know all that or? Don't forget it's the second encounter in the last 6 months

Lastly, I can't move, nobody can visit me, and nobody can bring food because they have been told I owe them.. I remember days ago I asked for tea and a WORKER outside the premises asked if she PAID FOR HER ROOM I mean cleared my debts 😳😳🙄🙄🙄 Why would you go discussing a client with a WORKER outside the premises and telling them not to bring me anything??

The price is really ok for what you'll get. It's an easy hotel in the middle of the crazy town Nairobi. Toilet, douche and medium clean beds (we used our sleeping bags). All of the main bus stations can be reached easily by foot. ||Wifi was working good enough and breakfest is not a highlight but still ok. It's not made for tourists - this is Nairobi. ||The hotel is very safe and you can also come or leave by taxi at night safely. ||At the day we leaved, it was possible to dump our luggage til 8 p.m., good service. ||In this part of town are not much activities to do after sundown. Criminality is very high there and for white peple it is highly recommendet not to prowl...

Firstly, lemme proudly admit my mistake for choosing a budget hotel from Booking.com with surprisingly 7.9/10 feedback rating.I must say that the rooms and the location is pathetic.I have been there only for a night and it was really scary though I appreciate the managers (like Mr. Felix) for their warm approach and hospitality. ||||+ves- the rooms look exactly like in the pics of booking.com, it is not photo shopped.||-ves- No wifi inside the room, Location has a very cheap crowd., No good places to have food , No connection...
