Harbour Key Cottages — Hotel in Shella ward

Beware of a lady that goes by Stella Akoth Otieno - she stole $90 from me. I booked 4 nights at the rate of $120 based on pictures sent on WhatsApp. Upon arrival I found that the place I booked was not like the pictures and videos sent to me. The kitchen was revolting, as was the bathroom. I did not shower or eat after a day of travelling because of how nauseous I felt. I cannot blame any one for the concerning amount of mosquitoes but it was impossible to sleep. No WiFi as promised either. It was too late to find new accommodation so I stayed up watching movies on my phone. The next morning I explained to Stella that the conditions were extremely unsatisfactory and inquired if she could move me elsewhere as she claimed to manage multiple homes within the compound. I viewed at least 4 units in this compound, each one was more unkempt than the other. I asked for a refund or to speak to her boss. She declined both but offered to show me more houses. This went on for days. She eventually stopped answering my calls, and literally began giving me the run around. We stayed at Harbour Key Cottages- House 29 (Sea La Vie) and all of us enjoyed it a lot! Unlike the other houses at the compound, Sea La Vie is decorated in Mediterranean style with every detail chosen well. Perfectly located, with a vast veranda overlooking the swimming pool, and not far from the beach, it gives you the opportunity to enjoy equally at both. It is very clean, well maintained, and equipped with all that you need during your stay. By the pool you have the sun beds with a beach umbrella at your disposal, which is very convenient, especially if it is busy. I recently stayed in one of the cottages at this property and was extremely disappointed with the experience. To start, there was a complete lack of water in all three of the cottages. This made it impossible to shower or even wash our hands. In addition, the air conditioning in our cottage was not working, making the already uncomfortable lack of water even worse.

But perhaps the biggest issue was the constant hassle we had with the owners and management. It seemed like every time we had a problem or request, it was met with resistance and a lack of willingness to help. Overall, I would not recommend staying at this property due to the numerous issues we...
