i had visited the hotel once before the pandemic and it was quite the experience from the services of the hotel staff, to the ambience and comfortability of the rooms in the Malindi heat an the recreational pools wee definitely one to look forward to. After the pandemic they have done quite a bit well recovering from the loss of tourists from local and outside market. They maintained the care of the hotel environment with the architecture being infused with the coastal nature still inviting to tourists. The service was not as great i assume because of loss of staff as well as maintenance of the rooms some didn't have all the equipment or complimentary toiletries were not as much as before again understandable .the beds were comfortable and a tropical hotel without air conditioning would be a failure. The pools were also taken care of and cleaned but not as inviting as before cause there were no guests to enjoy them. The way to their private beach was a plus especially the sleeping area was excellent! I believe the makuti beds made it so relaxing with the breathtaking you into a blissful rest as you can hear the beach breeze and the privacy was a good idea as you wont be bothered by the hustling coastarians if you are not interested in buying anything. The restaurant overlooking the beach(coco beach)is also an excellent chill spot for the drinking adventures. Unfortunately they don't serve lunch at the hotel meaning one has to go out of the hotel to look for some this may be a good idea if one is interested in walking around Malindi to visit the culture it has to offer but if one does not plan on leaving the hotel they would be disadvantaged. All in all I would like to advice them to continue striving to be where they were before but it would need local support as well. I would go again if they made improvement on the rooms, the entertainment and more extracurriculars activities...

Read moreScorpio villas has a nice location. The rooms are exceptionally big, with nice beds and all that and the environment gives that kind of tropical vibe . Here is a list of things that made everything go south 1.They ration water. I mean how do you leave Nairobi to go and relax in malindi only to bathe with a bucket( with the help of plastic bottle )for the entire stay. 2.They ration electricity. Their power source gets switched off the whole day so you can't even enjoy a movie or get to charge your electronics if had any that needed power. 3.Checking in time The front office/reception should have able staff .The old man who checked us in was rather slow and didn't give details hence inconveniencing us. 4.Covid 19 regulations During this abnormal time,we were never screened when we checked in and I also noticed the workers didn't wear masks.I mean everyone needs to stay safe.
Based on this experience I would not recommend these villas to my friends. value for...
