The most wonderful stay in Karakol where we were so well taken care of. Rooms are beautiful and comfortable, with all the amenities you could need during the stay. Breakfast is provided at a time of your choosing as well, ensuring that the hot portion of your meal is kept hot. Coffee, teas, hot water are available 24/7 as well. Luggage can also be left in their store during your treks and retrieved when you get back.
Information on how to travel further to destinations around Karakol are also provided in the breakfast room, along with food delivery menus and many other travel pamphlets.
Matsunoki also takes recycling seriously, providing a water dispenser for you to refill bottles, and separating the trash to recycle appropriately. Laundry service is also available for a very reasonable price. Location is perfect as well, being within walking distance to everywhere.
But the biggest standout of Matsunoki has to be the people, from the friendly and smiley staff who help out with breakfast, to their children helping to arrange the shoes and sort out the recycling, Savetbek and Yuka have truly built a wonderful little homebase for travelers. When we ran into some trouble and had to stay for more than a week in Karakol, Savetbek and Yuka took great care of us, always ensuring we had a room, even during their peak period, helping us with so many things that are way beyond what the usual tourist would encounter, and just being our light and support in what turned out to be a very tough week. Could not thank them enough for what they had done for us and it will always stay in our hearts.
I cannot recommend this place enough, these people are one of the best and kindest people I have encountered, and their home that they’ve built up and opened for travelers is the best choice in Karakol.
Thank you Savetbek & Yuka. We wish you health, happiness and...
Read moreWe stayed two nights in a twinroom, on the first floor, on the corner at the front side. Central located in Karakol, less than 10 minutes’ walk from the cathedral and the centre with shops and restaurants. Very well maintained and fresh decorated guesthouse with clean rooms. Good WiFi. A tasty breakfast. Very friendly owners who speak English. Near the entrance is a table with a lot of information about (travelling to/from and hiking around) Karakol. A large outdoor terrace on the first floor offers good possibilities to sit outside. A very good and recommended place to stay!||During our stay mid June roadwork's were around the guesthouse, but we of course understood the necessity. The owner was very glad the municipality reconstructed the street. Although Karakol has a higher altitude, the cooling down of the room in the evening to a good sleeping temperature is slower than you would expect. (The two last remarks are an observation and certainly not a...
Read moreWe thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay here. Savatbek and his wife were such warm hosts and truly made us feel at home from the moment we stepped foot into the classic log-cabin guesthouse. Not only did they cook us delicious breakfeast sand a traditional Japanes dinner; but they were so accommodating to our requests (e.g keeping food and drinks in the public fridge, opening up the private sound-proof party room for us, allowing us to leave our bags in the lobby while we went skiing, etc). Each room was in prestine condition with comfortable beds and kept at toasty warm conditions. A cool perk also was the fancy, hi-tech Japanese lobby toilet, which the owners raved about when showing us around. I’d highly recommend this guesthouse if you’re in Karakol and make sure you make the most of your time...
