Ventas rumba — Hotel in Kuldīga

I am writing in my experience as a camper here, can't comment on the Guesthouse as a whole. The owner clearly has a problem with customer service, she told me I could make a barbecue in the garden at 22h when I arrived and then she changed her mind "because the wind the smoke will go to the house" and asked me "why so late?". Maybe because I am on holidays and customer is king, specially if we have previously agreed on something???. When I asked her if it would be ok to make the barbecue at 21h she said "maybe". She finally accepted but clearly this doesn't made us feel well until she accepted.I feel other customers have also had problems with her akward rules. She didn't have a problem in taking 25 EUR from me as soon as I arrived, which is quite expensive for a Latvian campsite with no electricity. Having said that, very beautiful spot with views to the bridge and the waterfall, probably the best spot in town, this is why I give 2 stars and not just one. If you are ready to face the owner...

View to the Ventas Rumba is absolutely fabulous, but that is all what to say about this place. Lady who was serving us indeed have the problems how to work with the clients. One day complain that we are cooking meet (it was allowed before), next day like nothing happened and said it is ok if we barbecue on the fire. The attitude is confusing - angry/ nice in the same what makes adults to feel like small kids...

On top of that they obviously do not pay VAT as we did not receive any receipt and for the very simple room with no hot water and noise around we needed to paid 60 EUR (in the booking said 35eur). I advise you to stay in some hotel in the city and go and enjoy view to Ventas Rumba from...

We spent in Ventas Rumba two nights and costed 25 lati per night. The hostel is situated just next to Ventas Rumba waterfall, easy to find.||||Our room was big room in the house, where owners and their family live. Beside this house was an other house, where is other hostel rooms and on the yard is little camping place.||||The room was well equipped, there were own bathroom, double bed, two couchs, big table, chairs and TV.
