L’Hôtel de Mon Père — Hotel in Kartaboun

Great place to stay near Byblos. Nice pool, good clean rooms, good air conditioning, breakfast included. Staff are very helpful. Will use this place again. (August 2019)

Excellent as always! Lovely gem of a hotel where everything works which is quite an achievement in Lebanon these days. This is an oasis of calm.

We last stayed here in 2019, so pre Covid and all the other disasters that have almost overwhelmed Lebanon since then. However Thierry and his great team somehow manage to keep everything running like clockwork. Also they are a mine of information on the local area and good places to eat out and visit.

The pool is lovely (and clean) and the food menu is ideal for a poolside lunch or an early dinner if you don't want to bother going out. Breakfast is good too.

Hope we manage to get back next year!

Just one observation about Lebanon for the first time visitor, due to the ongoing crisis with the currency and the Lebanese banks you need to be prepared to pay in US$ CASH for everything. It is almost impossible to use credit cards and the exchange rate used on conversion might...

I was visiting with my cousin and we loved our stay. The place is really nice with a beautiful view and Thierry takes care of you as a member of his family! My cousin got sick with food poisoning (before checking at this hotel!!), on my request Thierry prepared rice and bananas for her breakfast. He had a pharmacy full of over the counter medicine and he offered to drive us to a pharmacy. He gave us good recommendations to avoid tourist traps in Byblos and an excellent spot for the beach at Batroun. The pool and roof top were great to swim, relax, eat lunch or have a drink. The food was great, especially the breakfast. Everything you need is there including gluten free options. I really enjoyed the viennoiseries as they were home-made and tasted just like in France.
