We booked a normal suite, but during Check in there seemed to be a problem, we have been asked if we have booked a "suite historique" (which we didnt) and the receptionist already indicated it might not be ideal. But as it seemed for whatever reason we had been assigned a suite historique (room 311) although we did not book one. The room was under the roof, so me and my pregnant wife had to watch out for our heads because we are tall people. It was also very old fashioned. When I went back to the reception fortunately a solution could be found as there was another available room in the other building (hotel was officially fully booked). It cost us 15 Euros more than in our initial reservation, in my opinion the hotel management could have just asked us the same price as a commercial gesture (the new room was only available at 16:30) due to the inconvenience caused. We were offered a voucher for a drink at the bar though and the staff was friendly and helpful. The new room (Suite Number 12) was perfect, clean spacious and nicely equipped. Only the bed mattrass should be replaced soon in my opinion (for me it was too soft, as i have back problems i am a bit sensible though). We had booked half pension, the dinner was very nice, also the location. Only (slight) disappointment was that we had to not only pay for our drinks but also a complementary amount because appearantly the price of the menu which we booked in advance had changed in the meantime. I thought that was a bit unusual. I would come back though but i would definitely insist on not booking a "suite historique" in order to avoid any misunderstandings. The suite historique 311 is in my opinion not worth being...

We stayed for 1 night with our 4 y.o. son who has never been in a hotel before :) For my husband and me it's not our first 4-star or 5-star hotel, though this one is really good and in excellent in "price/quality" ratio. Overall we enjoyed every aspect! Pros: Nice breakfast with the variety to choose from (smoked fish was delicious!) Swimming pool is included in the price (all supplies including bath robes, extra towels and slippers are provided as well as the ones in a child size), we visited it at about 6 pm, there were several people, but it was not crowded. The room was really spacious. We requested a separate small bed for our son and it was ready and covered with linen, waiting us in the room. Also we asked for an early check-in and the hotel employees did their best to provide it. Normally check-in is around 3-4 pm, we were in the room at approximately 1 pm. The liquid soap in the bathroom smells exactly like it should smell in a really good hotel. It's a small detail, but it creates the atmosphere. The staff was very nice and helpful overall.

Cons: The pillows are way too soft and not very comfortable to sleep It was a bit challenging to find the hotel reception at the very first time (despite the fact that they sent all instructions and directions in a separate email in advance). We even had to call them and ask where are they :) It's a bit confusing since there are 2 hotels with different names on booking.com and on google maps in the same building and they share the reception,...

We got a junior suite with breakfast for 155,which I think was a good price for the size of the room and view. Top floor with floor to wall tinted windows. Separate living room with settee, desk and telly. Bedroom with another telly and lovely view of the church further up the hill, plus the chateau next to the hotel. Spacious bathroom with separate toilet. Bath and large shower. Double sink, hairdryer, magnifying mirror. There was a mini fridge , safe, , lamps. Breakfast was good. Lots to choose from. Even prosecco.

There were downsides. Music at breakfast was rather club like and even reggaeton. Too much for breakfast in my opinion. Breakfast area was an 80's dine&dance area, with a real Love Boat vibe, for those old enough to know! :-) Second day the room wasn't cleaned properly. The dust cloths were still on the floor... All 3 of them. Used cups were not removed. Cups for the coffee machine were not restocked. We had used the robes and towels that were especially for use of the swimming pool, so they were wet. All was taken, but not replaced. Staff was busy with work, but not with an eye for the guests.

One more thing, reception was at the Koener hotel, which was not mentioned anywhere and therefore we'd been looking where to go. Other guests were as well. Receptionist was disinterested at first, but 5min later became friendly.

We did really enjoy our stay, also considering the...

Upon arrival it was a bit unclear to us where the check-in was, after looking around a bit this is located in the Koener hotel. The spa area is also shared with this hotel if I saw correctly. The room was beautiful and spacious and the bathroom was just phenomenal! However it was very hot in our room and you can’t regulate the temperature yourself, you can only choose the strength of the AC which we had on blast the whole stay, but it didn’t really cool our room down much. The bed was a bit too soft for our liking and the pillows were just way too big. Also the first night from 12am till 4am a light above the door went on that I couldn’t turn off so it kept me awake because it lit up the whole room. If this is a safety light then it’s understandable that it turns on but maybe just switch it to a less bright light. Only the weird thing was that the second night it didn’t turn on. We enjoyed our stay but I definitely think that the hotel is overrated and too pricy.
