Homestay Kuching — Hotel in Borneo

I had an extremely unpleasant experience during my stay at this hotel. The issues began the moment I stepped into the room. The walls and floor were disgustingly dirty, and the bed sheets had visible stains. Even the pillow had an unpleasant smell, and the air conditioning unit was covered in dust. There was a cigarette burn on the chair, despite the room being marked as non-smoking. To my surprise, I even found an ashtray in the "non-smoking" room. The hotel feels old and poorly maintained. The entire room exudes a sense of neglect. A drunk couple knocked on my door at 3 a.m., waking me up. To make matters worse, loud laughter and conversations in the hallway made it nearly impossible to get a good night’s sleep. The room reeked of smoke, and the overall odor was unpleasant, which made the stay even more unbearable. In conclusion, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. The lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, and constant noise made it impossible to relax. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I will certainly never return. 1st stay st this hotel.|Pros:|Cheap, near city centre, fast wifi, breakfast provided but not buffet style (eg: fried mee + soy milk), car park with CCTV surveillance. Fan & air cond.||Cons:|Small room, no soundproof as u can hear any sound outside ur room (not recommended for those who wish to honeymoon), limited choice of tv channel & remote is not working, white room with white lamp make the rooms looks very dull. The bed is not comfortable as it was covered by plastic! Bring ur extension cable as only one socket is available.||I actually booked this hotel for 3 nights, but from the first moment my wife and I walked into the room, we want to change hotel. It's really cheap, just doesn't have the hotel feel. ||I credit card was charged for 3 nights and the settlement has been done. But the staff was willing to pay me the balance in cash. The photo's and reviews must be from another time because, the room was very small, just as small as the 18 inch TV with one channel. The WIFI was excellent. No hot water in the shower and no real water pressure. They advertised restaurant, wasn't open any of the 3 nights I stayed there. I tried to cancel after first night but would not refund. There is no where close to buy food, you must get a taxi. Good luck finding one in this remote area. It's behind a motorcycle sales and very desolate. The bed was harder than a concrete slab. I actually woke up in pain.Brushed my teeth and the sink clogged, so I didn't even bother to shave. Don't bother reporting any of this to the front desk, they don't care because there's nothing they can do about it. And besides, they already have your money.
