Kuree Hut - Semporna||Stayed: 24th - 26th November 2017.||||The Hosts ***||Sam, Lisa and Andrew could not be more Welcoming! ||We have made friends for life!||||Semporna can be a bit of a shock to the system, so when we arrived to them and the clean fresh accommodation that is Kuree Hut, it was a Happy Moment!||||In constant communication via Email prior to our stay and organised an Airport transfer for just RM50 for BOTH of us. (Around 1 Hour 15 Mins Drive)||||Very helpful with everything we needed, can organise anything for you from the Snorkeling/Diving Locations and Trips.||||We even ended up having a few beers and Dinner with Lisa on our first night where we went to a great street food restaurant with stunning fresh Grilled Fish, ||Coconuts and Chicken, and with Sam on our 2nd/last night we went to a great little restaurant near the jetty.|||| The Twin Bed Bunk Room ||Larger then Usual Single Beds||Lockable Solid Door||FREE WiFi throughout and fast||Great Sufficient Space in the Room||Extremely Clean||Air Conditioning||Communal Lounge Area with Kitchen Facilities||FREE Fresh Water Dispenser and Hot Water||Comfy Bed with Extra Pillows if required||Large Shared Bathroom ||3 Showers and 2 Actual Toilets/Toilet Tissue and Bum Gun||Clean Warm Shower with Great Pressure||Communal Balcony where you can smoke if needed||Beers in the Fridge which they charge only RM5 and a Wonderful Local Breakfast Included that they bring in for you in the morning, fresh.|||| Area - Tawau Airport to Semporna *||Now Semporna... Driving from the airport it was a beautiful scenic route, on arrival to Semporna things changed and it really was not what we were expecting. The Town was extremely run down, very dirty, with rubbish everywhere. Such a Shame.||||Back to the positives you stay in Semporna and it is very simple to organise to get on a boat to visit the Numerous BEAUTIFUL islands that surround it.||We visited Mataking, Timba Timba and Pom Pom, STUNNING!||||EVERYONE is Lovely though where if you smile they would smile back 10 times over! If you are a Westerner you will get a few looks as the locals are used to more Asian nationalities however still very friendly and helpful.||||Don't pay more then you need to in a higher starred hotel you probably wont get a cleaner, better service then Kuree Hut!||||When we decide to go back to do some more Diving and to go to the other islands we did'nt see, we would without a doubt although Semporna itself is not currently beautiful the SPOTLESS Accommodation at Kuree Hut and those beautiful people, Sam, Lisa and Andrew, made it great...||||Thank you so much for being so awesome!...

No regrets staying here at all for the second time! Came here in September 2020 and our stay was very comfortable so we were back in Dec 2021 for a second time after our stay at Kapalai. The beds are super comfy, even more comfortable than the beds in Kapalai and I’m not joking! Shower pressure is good and overall the establishment is well maintained and very clean. Location wise it is a few mins walk away from the jetty, with a Chinese restaurant next door and fast food nearby, it is very convenient to walk around since the town is small. Grabfood is available if you’re too lazy to go out. There is a lil pantry upstairs with cutleries and crockeries available. I also appreciate the balcony upstairs where we could hang some of our laundry for drying. The highlight of our stay was definitely meeting Andrew & Lisa (our hosts) who welcomed us with the best hospitality we could ever ask for! You could also inquire with them about day trips, Andrew himself is a diving instructor and used to operate a dive center hence is very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. We went on a discover scuba dive trip to Tun Sakaran Marine Park/Sibuan/Mantabuan with Andrew and left with unforgettable memories! I highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone who is looking for a comfy and economical place to stay in Semporna.

Our one night stay in a Family Double Room with a queen bed and a single bed was perfect! The room was clean and neat, and without any cigarette or unpleasant smell. Linens and pillows were pretty new and comfy. The toilet was petite but most importantly brightly lit, fitted w heater that comes w decent pressure; WC and basin were all okay.

Our room also has a lil dressing table and a very useful rack for hanging clothings and stuff. Room had a functioning AC and also a ceiling fan. Really liked how each side of the bed (even the single bed) is equipped w a small reading light, what a thoughtful touch.

There's drinking water dispenser provided. We were given a keycard for access to the room and had no issues with it throughout our stay. Sound insulation could use some improvement but not too big a problem.

Kuree Hut is in Semporna town and within walking distance to the Jetty, restaurants and to the dive operator offices. There's even a chinese restaurant open right next door! There are public parking along the road in front of the shop lot, which are abundant in the evening but could be a bit tricky in the day time.

For the price, we really loved the room and it was really our best stay for a week long trip in Sabah....
