Being a Malaysian, it hurts me greatly that a local eatery serving tourists from China and other countries has such poor service. We spent the previous evening here. We believe we might be able to eat breakfast the next day. What actually happened is that the white-uniformed service staff member named Adli or Ali played a mobile game on his phone while serving us. We enquired about the possibility of placing an order for a lunch menu in Bahasa Malaysia as we could only find a morning option. We understand they might to understand ENGLISH hardly.
Yes, he replied. We are quite grateful for the restaurant's flexibility. After we requested the special menu, I noticed the female checking in with him again. And he simply made the "yes" signal.
After we placed our order, we were informed by another member of the serving staff that they only had the morning menu. Surprised, we told her that her colleagues had just given us a special menu for lunch and asked if she could ask them.
The fact that Ali was acting rudely and was still playing with his phone when the girl was asking him questions was what really irritated me. Then I called him over so I could explain that you had just given us permission to order lunch. "No," he said. "I assumed you just wanted to look at the lunch menu."
I asked that he check with the chef about any special arrangements. He checked with the chef and told us it's not possible. The fact that we took a long time to order and it is now unavailable is totally ridiculous.
I hope staff at this restaurant get excellent training, especially in understanding the languages. Since they are unable to understand Bahasa Malaysia, our primary language, I couldn't conceive how they would service tourists from China.

I had a very unpleasant experience at your Semporna branch today (July 2nd), and I feel the need to make a formal complaint.
My friend and I were waiting to be seated and placed our order early while temporarily sitting at a small one-person table. When bigger tables became available—which we were clearly waiting for—we were told we couldn’t move. This made no sense at all. What’s worse, your male staff member showed no respect and no explanation, just dragged a table and chair over and combined two tiny tables for us. No apology, no communication. Extremely rude and unprofessional.
On top of that, the Ginger Stocking Milk Tea was served with tea spilled all over the saucer. Nobody bothered to change it or even say sorry. When we tried to communicate, the staff just ignored it.
This is unacceptable. The attitude was awful, the service was careless, and the whole experience was frustrating from start to finish. It completely ruined our mood.
If this is how DOJO trains its staff to treat customers, I seriously question the quality of your brand. I hope this message gets to someone who actually cares about service and customer experience.
Sort your team out.

We were told half the menu was unavailable upon arrival, and the one waiter kept giving us false information about what was available. This happened 5 times, wasting 45 minutes before we could even place an order, only to end up picking from what was left.
Now for the real issue: I’m vegetarian due to intolerances, so I was extra clear when ordering. It took 4 different waiters to get my request right, and finally, the last one assured me it would be made vegetarian. When my food arrived, I took a few bites before discovering prawns in the dish, which I didn’t even order?! I asked to cancel, given it was late and we had already been there a while, but the waiter insisted on remaking it FRESH. I reluctantly agreed.
Ten minutes later, it returned: supposedly “fresh.” I ate half before finding two more prawns at the bottom. It was obvious they hadn’t made a new dish at all, they just picked the prawns out and hoped I wouldn’t notice. Lazy, careless, and incredibly unsafe. If I had an allergy instead of intolerance, this could’ve ended VERY differently.
The experience was negligent and disrespectful....
