The huge smile we had from Yusof, the bellman, on our arrival, was a harbinger of things to come. Whenever we arrived or left the hotel, he was there to support us - with parking, luggage, advice on places to go and help with our inadequate Malay language when we asked for it. Nothing was too much trouble - and all with an amazing smile and enthusiasm to help.||The restaurant food was another high spot - beautiful food and great service from table staff. The crispy salmon, beef stroganoff and ginger onion beef were all to die for. |Often bowls eg for omelette fillings, remained empty for long periods. It would help if buffet staff checked and refilled them often. Despite this, omelettes were cooked to perfection.||The room was comfortable and we enjoyed the sea view. A hook or rail near the basin for the hand towel would be very convenient. ||When we checked out, we were very surprised when the receptionist, Shuryana, just wrote a price on a piece of paper and showed it to us. We expected a printout with an itemised list so we understand how our hotel charges were made up. My husband requested an itemised account and so we were finally given a printout, but we felt the whole interaction was not professional. Fortunately, Yusof was there to help us again, ensuring we left with a another of his...
Read moreWhat I like about this hotel is the location - it's right smack in the midst of many shops - very convenient. If you need to travel out on buses, the bus station is right next to the hotel. There are loads of food options around the hotel, more than enough to eat at a different place for each meal if you stay a week or more. There's the Farley Supermarket less than 5 min walk away - fairly big one that should be able to provide you with all you need. Went for a haircut for RM18 and a fantastic legit massage at Jian Kang III for RM55/hour. All are just across the hotel - less than 5 min walk again. ||||As for the hotel, the best thing about it apart from the location is the buffet breakfast. For the price of the room, this is a fantastic value-for-money breakfast. Security is good with the security cards. The rooms are clean and have just about everything one needs for a short stay. The beds are comfortable and clean. The reception staff are polite. In fact, I don't have anything negative to say about this hotel and I'll be staying here again if I were to visit Bintulu a...
Read moreMy parents are currently staying in this hotel and they are so disappointed. The staff in the hotel are not professional. my parents requested towel but the staff did not deliver the towel to them. Not only did not deliver but expect my parents to bring their own towel from the room to the housekeeper to exchange. based on what I have search this hotel in 1 of the most expensive hotel in Bintulu which is why I expect a better and professional service.
For people that I planning to stay in the hotel I would recommend a cheap hotel because this hotel only want your money and don't deliver good service at all.
I am a student with a Degree in International Hospitality and I am now ashamed to even think that I have studied so much and knowing that people in the hospitality industry and so unprofessional.
For the hotel I would say the hotel need a real staff that knows what to do and also serious training. because this in totally unacceptable and the hotel should be ashamed to have con the...
