Sushi Mentai @ Bintulu, Sarawak — Restaurant in Borneo

Overall, it was a good experience! A variety of sushis are on the belt consistently, and the food was fresh and warm. Plenty of seats along the belt so everyone gets to take the sushi directly. The waiters & waitresses are very busy, but they still manage to greet the customers aloud.

We ordered genmaicha but it came a bit late. The gingers were almost empty on the belt, so had to ask for refill. They have 4 special menus displayed on the wall but when we placed order for Golden Egg, the waitress told us it was not in the menu yet. There are no menus for the sushis of RM 1.80, RM 2.80 & RM 3.80 yet like branches in other place too. And lastly, we waited for 30 mins+ for soft shell crab sushi to be served.

Im having really good experiences with other sushi mentai branches like at Kuching, Miri but Bintulu, worse! I love the foods and environment but services from this branch are getting worsee! Everytime i go there and i pick some sort of menu always out of stock lah, just tell me that u guys malas nak cook lah... adakah patut baru buka tibeh dah habis. Time i got there also not very late or too early, memang dah timing smua mkanan dah prepared. And last time i eat there, there just a few dishes on the conveyor like... are u guys open for business or not? Please management, people go there want to enjoy their fav food, not to hadap ur staff tht always told ur cust, this menu out of stock... if always out of stock, just rip out that from ur menu...

The food is really superb, no doubt about it. But the service was very disappointing. We came at 8:30 pm and only got our food after 45 minutes, even though there were just a few tables and it wasn’t even a public holiday. Strangely, people who came later than us got served first and even finished their meal before ours arrived.

While eating, the staff rushed us to pay, and after just 15 minutes they cleared away our sauces— even though we were still eating. It doesn’t make sense: food came late, but we were the ones being hurried.

The food deserves 5 stars, but the service really ruined the experience. Hopefully the management can...
