Avantgarde Hotel — Hotel in Iskandar Puteri

Never in my life would I write so badly about a hotel and banned myself from returning to that hotel! Seriously!||||Stayed for 2 nights in this hotel over National Day weekend, and it kind of ruined my trip staying here! Regretted staying here so much...||||1. The check-in counter people have this look of trying to tolerate us during check-in. We booked and made the requests online at their official website, we made things clear. If your hotel is non-smoking, at least reply back to us when we booked the hotel and stated the requests. Not when we check-in and find out that all rooms are non-smoking and you still give this kind of expression. Nowhere in their website was openly stated that they are a non-smoking hotel.||||2. The photos of the rooms in the website look very nice, but the actual rooms sucked. They are completely different from the photos! They mentioned that they provide clean environment, but oh my god, why are there black mould stains everywhere in the bathroom and walls? It was so gross.||||3. Amenities are a thumbs down. A small little bottle of shower gel for 2 or 3 people (we booked a double and a triple bed rooms)? And they provided just 2 plastic cups of plain water, not a decent bottle, but those disposable cup types of plain water.||||4. The bedsheets got stains, the room walls looked black and dull.||||5. Worst is the lift, you have to scan the card to go to the level you are at. And we have to take the stairs if we need to visit our friends room on 2nd level because we stay at 3rd level. And the lift is so damn slow! After scanning the card and press the level and then press the door close button, it will take another 30 seconds for the lift door to close.||||6. Now to the rooms. The rooms are badly maintained. First room we got is 320 and that room's aircon was not working and the toilet flush system was not working as well. So we asked to change the room. Second room we got is 319 of which the aircon is working, but the toilet flush has a temper every morning that it just won't flush.||||And this hotel is still considered as a 3-star hotel? I think it is worse than some...

My boyfriend and I stayed in their Avant Grande Suite on 21 June 2024. Overall, the room was extremely spacious and well-equipped, and I had a good night's sleep. However, there are a few areas that need improvement.

Positives:

1. The suite is very spacious, offering plenty of room to relax.
2. Clean bed sheets, which made for a comfortable sleep.
3. Good amenities provided in the room.

Areas for Improvement:

1. The coffee table was dusty upon check-in.
2. The air conditioning took a while to cool the room, so it’s best to leave it running for a bit.
3. Bathroom curtain had mould stains at the bottom, which was unpleasant.
4. No hot water from the shower due to a faulty heater.
5. The in-room safe was not working.
6. Front desk did not respond to our calls at night, so we couldn’t get assistance for the issues encountered.

Final Thoughts: Although the suite is spacious and comfortable, the lack of hot water, mould in the bathroom, and unresponsive front desk were disappointing. With improvements in cleanliness, maintenance, and service, this could be a much...

Hotel is strategically located across Sutera mall, and surrounded by many nice eateries. Thus, no fuss and trouble looking for brekkie, lunchie, dinner & supper!||Took a car to paradigm mall and will reach in approx 10mins time. ||Queen size bed is comfy and aircon is good. Spacious toilet, but not in really good shape. With the toiletries holder dislodge, and not scrub well. But no foul smell etc.. Based on the price paid, overall cleanliness, and location, its definitely a place i will go again. =) I preferred their level 1 (no window) room which is newly renovated =X Its really clean and nice..
