I know a thing or two about cocktail bars, and am not abashed to admit I have been to many of the rated "top cocktail bars" in the world from London to NYC to Copenhagen. But friends, (my JB ones especially) my first experience here I had what I would humbly say are two of the most incredibly complex and finely made cocktails I ever had the pleasure of drinking. If you haven't been here, get here. I have been served by some of the best, most creative and well trained bar tenders around the globe, but nothing, I mean nothing compares to the cocktails I've had at this tippsymonkey. Wow, just wow were my first thoughts after taking a sip of the magic potion created just for me. I've come to know the bar tender "Zeeshan" well, this man knows his product and is a master mixologist - not afraid to experiment whilst also catering specifically to your taste. His understanding not only of the alcohol, but flavors and the complimentary attributes of such. the complexity that shines through his drinks left me in awe. I am still trying to grasp how this man could make such interesting, well balanced drinks. It's also the first time I've seen the menuless concept executed with such precision. It takes someone with a lot of skill and creativity to make such awesome drinks based purely on ticking the boxes (see image). To top it all off the atmosphere is one of a cool speakeasy without the pretension, where whether its your first or 10th visit you're welcomed like an old friend every time. This is truly a Gem of JB and needs more recognition. I highly recommend going here - especially on Sundays - 4 top shelf cocktails for 100 ringos, you cant go wrong!!,you...
Read morefood is terrific here, wonderful and reasonably priced. We ordered a corden bleu chicken and a lamb chop, i was shocked with their food presentation, its super nice for a casual restaurant. Chicken is tender and juicy, you can see the cheese is slowly dripping down, and its unlike those indolent restaurant simply putting the cheese and ham on top of the fried chciken, its perfectly wrapped and serve on a well decorated plate. We ordered a well done lamb chop, it is tender and fresh, cook perfectly on chargrill, you can taste the charcoal flavor. Their beer set is affordable as well 86 for 6 mugs. Last but not least, they have SHISHA!!!!!! which for me is pretty hard to find around jb, or maybe i didnt lepak around so i dunno. So overall from the service to their food and beer is a solid 5 stars.
Edit: So we went there two weeks ago, around 31st May, they have changed the menu, lamb chop is no longer there but corden bleu still. Why I post this, is to tell you they have changed their chef! We ordered the corden bleu again, it is so salty and served with different sides, frozen assaulted bean and fries. (*The photo I posted were the previous chef's lamb chop). It's a very disappointed meal for me, as I was planning to indulge my tongue but not what I have expected. Overall it's still better than other bar food, but the standard definitely dropped from what...
