I-hotel Johor Bahru — Hotel in Iskandar Puteri

I stayed a night at the i-Hotel together with a few colleagues as we had a 2-day training session at a JB-based business partner's place, back in October. The hotel was actually recommended by our principal, who's based in KL, as he has stayed there several times and likes the location of the place.||||Our principal is indeed spot on, as the i-Hotel is smack in the middle of both Bukit Indah and Taman Perling, where loads of food, entertainment outlets, and other facilities are available. It is also very close to JB City and the Nusajaya theme parks, thanks to the Sultan Iskandar Highway located at the other end of Bukit Indah - we also used this road to get to our business partner's office in Taman Nusa Bestari.||||But since this is a budget hotel, facilities are very minimal and the room comes with two single beds, a small TV stuck on the wall, simple but tastefully-decorated toilet, coffee-tea making facilities, and best of all, free WiFi (something that we cannot get in so-called better hotels). There's also no in-house café although this is not an issue since many restaurants are nearby, including this one large coffee shop a couple of blocks away where we had our breakfast.||||Anyway, for the price we paid, we definitely got a good deal for a night's stay in JB and the i-Hotel remains on our list for...

Worst ever checked-in experienced. I booked a triple room and checked-in to hotel at 10pm. Everything went smooth until I enter the room and found there's only one double bed in the room. Went back to clarify at the reception but was told the triple room was black-out beyond immediate repair and they don't have any triple room left. Why am I not being informed during check-in? Really feel fishy here for being cheated! After that she told me because of this I was given a free upgrade, an additional mattress will be given for free? I booked a triple room which supposed to equipped with one double bed and a single bed but now was given a double bed room plus an extra bed is called upgrade?! The worst is when the additional bed was sent to my room, the service guy just place it "on the floor", bed sheet I have to put it on myself! The shower area in the bathroom was full of mold, very disgusting! The carpet on on the staircase and wall way was very dirty with trace of dirt all...

It was end December 2017 - We had difficulty finding the hotel location, even using Waze! Took us over 30mins just to get it right.....online, it states one location but actual location is FAR FROM IT! Very misleading info. We took 1 triple and 2 Queen: beds turned out to be smaller than expected. The shower tap was broken and rusty. Had to wait at least 10mins for the hot water. Next morning when we went out for breakfast at 10:20am, the Receptionist was lying non-chalantly on the long sofa (both legs stretched out) with h/phone in her hand, while the Malay help was just relaxing in the other sofa chair, both not even looking up.....Reception area badly kept, even the "welcome" mat at the entrance was badly torn, with a large worn-out hole in the centre. Very bad impression.....will not recommend this hotel to...
