Hotel City 88 — Hotel in Johor

Had a very disappointing experience at Hotel City 88. Despite having a confirmed booking via Agoda, we were told upon arrival that the hotel was fully booked. There was no prior notice or attempt to contact us about this issue, which was extremely inconvenient.

To make matters worse, on our final day there was a water disruption. The staff claimed it was due to SAJ, but none of my relatives living nearby experienced any such issue, making this explanation questionable.

Overall, the lack of communication, poor customer service, and handling of the situation were unacceptable. I truly hope the hotel improves its service in the future, but as of now, I would not recommend...

I was pleasantly surprised by how much value I got for the price! The room was very clean – even cleaner than many budget hotels I’ve stayed at before. There’s a water dispenser available, and the room also provides coffee and drinking water, which was a nice touch. The environment is calm and pleasant, and the location is super convenient with food options nearby.

Most importantly, the front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Their warm attitude really made me feel welcome. I’ll definitely choose to stay here...

Cleanliness is about OK! Had a room at 2nd storey with a window facing the backlane and the Malay Mee goreng shop. Quite noisy late at night but acceptable. Mee Racun serves quite a good plate of Mee goreng with either chicken or lamb shank. If need to go for other local food, walked 10 mins across the main road and head towards their market; plenty...
