We booked using Agoda and was supposed to check in at 3pm, but we already informed them earlier that we were gonna be arriving and checking in late at night. Unfortunately, the front desk didn't received the message. Nevertheless, the front desk was considerated and saved our rooms until 12 midnight. He was also really friendly and really understanding. They also offered free drinking water as a complimentary and towels to use. The hotel also offered a stable working WiFi to the hotel guests. The location of this hotel is also good as it is only few minutes to the jetty. There is also a very good Malay restaurant just beneath the hotel. The food was good, but the service was slow, since it was during Eid season (but this is another story). However, the room was dirty. The room floor was sticky and the bathroom floor was oily. The bed sheet was dirty and have like stains (in the picture was one of the stains as there were severals). Our room's shower heater was also a little bit faulty. Sometimes, it works, sometimes it doesn't. But, the water was running fine. The chair was a bit smelly, I didn't dare to sit on it, I just put my bag on top of it. Furthermore, our room's walls were very thin. We can hear people chatting outside (they're no even talking loudly, heck I can even heard my dad's coughing from the opposite room. The TV was small and only had 3 channels (but I didn't mind about that since I didn't came here to watch TV). Last but not least, RM82 for a room was a bit too pricey compare to the room that they provided. Honestly, I can get a cheaper room from a different hotel that possibly offers a cleaner room. (I wrote possibly, since I don't know about other hotels) As a conclusion, I give two out of five stars for the overall rating, one for the friendliness of the hotel's front desk, and one for the location. As for recommending the hotel, I would not recommend it, as I would prefer to stay in other cheaper hotel, if I was given a chance to do so. But you guys are still welcome to give it a try and experience for yourself. Different people might have different opinions. Thank you very much...
Read morePrice was ridiculous, when we book in booking.com it was about triple times compare with normal price. I had impression that hotel should be nice to have that pricing, pictures look nice also (only inside the room). But when we reached the hotel, i felt that i was totally fooled. It should not be called hotel if you see it from outside but it was rated as 2 stars hotel in the booking app. The room itself was not bad, only missing fridge, hair dryer, slippers, kettle, tea... It just never worth the amount of money that i had to pay. And i have to mention, there was no room service at all! I stayed for 2 nights (wondering if anyone would ever stay for more than 1) but they no bother to clean the room, change the bedsheets, replace towels... You can consider it if you only need a fair place to sleep 1 night at Mersing and pay for it less than 50RM. I totally regretted that I had chosen it...
Read moreWe arrived in Mersing at 2.00am and found this.... hotel, for want of a better word, after a short walk from the bus depot. That is the only positive about this place I can think of, It's close to the bus depot! So! I've stayed in my fair share of crummy Hostel and Hotels but this one makes the others look like the Ritz. The whole place smelled like a mixture of piss, poo and feet which only got worse once we got to the room. Mold on the ceiling and walls in and out of the bathroom, the shower looked like I would come out dirtier if I went near it. Toilet was a depressing sight, as was the look on my girlfriends face when we walked in. Then she found urine all over the sheets! Good times!! In fact road would...
