I and my husband stayed at Island Time Motel on the 26th Oct 2013 on a trip. We did not book the rooms through any websites because when i called the motel wanted to know about its offer, they told me i do not need to book, i just need to tell the receptionists at the counter when we arrive at the motel. When i arrived at the motel, i told them i wanted a room for 3 nights. I paid RM 237+ RM50 in total of RM 79 per night and RM 50 Deposits. They gave me a room under expectation. It was small, no space to walk after putting our luggages, bugs crawling on the bed, noisy exhaust fan in the bathroom, no mat for wet legs from bathroom. We were too tired to go finding another motel so we decided to stay only one night. We requested to check out the next day. They returned RM 50 of deposits and were not able to give us back RM 158 for the two nights we would not stay. The reasons they gave was the cash money had been transferred to the kl branch for banking in. We agree d for them to give the money back at the kl branch (Number 8, Swera) later. When we returned to KL. I called the number the provided to Mr Faisal to ask for the money. Many days later Mr Fa*l did not called back, it was hard to get him on the phone, later other staff said he had gone overseas and did not know when he would be back. When i finally got him on the phone, he said i shouldn't have asked him about this, i should call the langkawi branch back. When i called the langkawi branch, the Mr Kelash recognized that they owed me RM 158. He promised to ask from his directors and bank in to me. When Mr Kelash had finally deposited the money to me, it was already 11th January 2014. But only RM 120 was deposited by him and received by me. When i asked for a reason, he said it was the company decision. I requested for an official explanation providing with official company information. And, told them i will write report and reviews to websites. He said he passed the message to the company directors and they would contact me. Nobody called after a week. I contacted Mr Kelash again on the 22nd Jan 2014 and he asked for booking details. I forwarded the receipt i had with a note that they agreed to give me back RM 158, and notified them i did not booked through any websites on the 23rd Jan 2014. He promised to deposit RM 38 on the 2nd Feb. I did not receive up to 4 Mar 2014, not even a message stating a delay. I contacted Mr Keh on the 11th Feb, 18th Feb, 25th Feb through the wait. On the 4th March 2014, i expressed i made decision to report their fraud through a sms. Mr Keh then replied that he couldn't do anything because the company thought i booked through websites and they couldn't give me anything more than RM 120 or else they will lose money. I emphasised to them i did not book through any websites in the conversation. They are not able to give me a solution. Conclusion: I have given the company 4 months time to give me a solution. But they are not honest. RM 38 is small money , but all i want is a honest,and...
Read moreIsland Time Motel, a sibling-run business, is super cheap. It is a walking distance to the beach, jetty and The Eagle Square. There are many good food in the area. The rooms seems clean but they look kind of rundown, perhaps due to lack of maintenance. TV reception is poor and wifi connection is not stable. ||||There are many other motels next and around Island Time which made you wonder if the rooms in these motels are more appealing and that you could have been better off staying in either of them. Overall, the motel is liveable - grateful that we have a roof above my head to sleep at night. I understand that there is only one cleaning lady for the entire motel. The motel staffs, however, speak English and are friendly. They are also kind enough to give you suggestions as to what you can do while you are in Langkawi. ||||There are many tour packages available which you can book directly from the motel or, if you are like me who prefers free-and-easy activity, simply book a taxi from the motel to your desired destination. ||||If you wish to check-out late, there is a fee of RM10 per hour. ||||If you love chocolates and dinnerware, Island Time Motel is situated just opposite Rams Duty Free Shopping Centre. Be sure to make space for your goods!! ||||The only transportation available is taxi. There is no public bus. A trip from the airport to Island Time Motel was RM 30 (booked at the Taxi Station). The motel co-owner was kind enough to taxi us to SkyCab for RM42 and to the airport on the day we checked-out for RM 20 (because he was also flying off to KL on that same day, otherwise it would cost RM30). The trip from SkyCab back to Island Time cost RM44 (also book at the Taxi Station). We got a mini van instead of a taxi, so it was okay. ||||Oh, always ask how much the trip cost before you take the taxi to avoid overpricing. ||||In conclusion, if you (and your friends and/or your family) just want a cheap place to sleep at night, this would be the accommodation for you. Otherwise, check out other motels or hotels nearby before making your bookings.||||If you have a driving license, rent a car or a bike. It saves you from the hassle of...
