A bit long winded but honest and detailed review. You may want to consider to top up a little bit more to stay at Bayview with much better service, cleanliness and breakfast spread. My family and I booked few rooms separately (enjoying and max. discount from both Agoda and Trip.com). First, the hotel staffs couldn't find one of the booking/ room and yet they didn’t apologize and offer a solution. I had to call Agoda multiple times to request for supplier reference code and provide it to the hotel staff for verification. They still couldn't find the booking at the end. One of the group paid at the hotel for 3 nights and decided to forego 2 nights and moved to Bayview hotel after first night as the condition is unbearable.Second, please take note if you decided to proceed with booking and decline if you were offered these rooms number:620 (family suite) - the handle of the window is gone. The window couldn't close properly. The hairdryer can only last for 1 minute - not more and not less.812 (family room) - the handlebar in shower room broken. Please make sure you have the evidence that it was not caused by you.702 (twin room) - if you don’t mind insect crawling on you at night while sleeping. Second night, the toilet bowl clogged. My 8 yo girl flush again as she thought it would help. The toilet floor ended with poop. I wanted to call concierge but the phone in the room didn't work. I went down personally and asked for room change but I was told that they are fully booked and will send a maintenance staff to check it out.. I was so frustrated and asked if I were to wait for maintenance staff to unclog, the housekeeping to clean it before we could shower?! End up the manager came and spoke to the staff in Bahasa/ Malaysia, told him to give me a new room (that's when I start to realized it is not fully booked but was just an excuse). They changed my room to 1114, sea view but much smaller room than 720.719 - the room near the corner. It is dim. Same as 620, window handled spoilt and the window couldn't be closed properly. We discover it later but hotel staff refuse to change a room for us. The sound of wind blowing and morning prayer were quite disturbing. The towel provided for the room were old and greyish. 1114 - small twin room with sea view. It was better than the rest although one of the lamp on the table and feature wall were not working. Some trash/ litter under the desk here and there but it doesn’t really bother me. The towel provided looks clean. Also, please take note of the extra charges of RM15/ towel and RM30/ pillow (as we need it for kids to avoid them rolling...

My family and I had an unpleasant stay at this hotel. It was only the first night staying in this hotel and we already had experienced such disappointment.

The time for check in was at 3pm. We do respect it especially during peak periods so we proceeded to check in at 3pm but we still have to wait for more than 30 minutes after being told that the room was not ready. The lobby was stuffy and not ventilated. We do understand that the housekeeping may not have enough time to clean up rooms during this holiday period but at least do provide a lobby that is cooling and bright.

The toilet in the room was terrible. It was so smelly as if someone was using it right before we enter to the room. Luckily the smell went off after awhile. The water for shower wasn't even warm even though we've called to the reception about this issue. The receptionist told us to open all taps and let the water run for 15 minutes, it was totally unreasonable and a waste. There weren't any other solutions given to us even though it didn't worked out. At the end, we've to shower with cold water at night.

There were people smoking at the emergency staircase at our floor while we were heading out. We proceeded to inform the hotel at the reception and they replied that they will go on for investigation. We received a call from the receptionist after that, telling us that we complaint to them that we were the one who smoked at our room. I believe it was a miscommunication between the staffs but who would be foolish enough to complaint their own for a fine of RM500? After clarifying with her, she hang up our call straight away. How rude was it for a customer service staff to serve customers in this way.

The fridge, hair dryer and light bulb in our room weren't working and so we proceeded to inform the hotel. The technician came to change a new fridge but never return for the other unusable items despite calling to the reception for so many times.

Overall, do think twice before booking for this hotel. The staffs we had communicated with were so blurred and inattentive. Nonetheless, the location of this hotel is quite good as you can find attractions and food nearby. Do hope that the hotel will take feedbacks...

Bathroom sometimes no hot water, Bathroom sometimes no hot water, Bathroom sometimes no hot water. Very important so must say three times.

The rooms were dirty. They changed the white bedsheets alright, but for the decorative pillows, I think I never change it. Can smell the sweat stink smell, yuck! And they don't provide metal teaspoons to go with the tea cups.

Worst part is no hot water. I think it's a persisting problem, looking at other reviews, everyone suffer the same issue. It will be hot enough in the morning when the central hot water is still full. By noon, when the hot water is used up, no more hot water. And the hot cold water tap is installed wrongly - you need to switch the tap to cold side to get hot water. They claim it is pump issue on our first day, but looking at all the reviews, it's a long term problem for this hotel. The trick that they ask you to turn on all water taps for 5 min, doesn't work at all. We turned on for 1 hour and still no hot water.

We stayed for 2 nights, is so frustrating to have no hot water. We had a toddler with us! They provided bucket to fill up with water (cold from tap + hot water from kettle), but it's so annoying to do this kind of with when I'm on vacation.

Hotel lobby is full with flies and air con not cool at all.

2nd day room service was late to clean our rooms, but the time we needed the room for afternoon nap only they want to come clean.

Breakfast was just OK. I think they need to label properly dishes with beef - some people are allergic to it, or for religious reasons. For first day breakfast, there were beef in two dishes - beef kurma and fried noodles. They need to be more sensitive to other culture needs.

And they charge rm 15 per day for extra big towel. Our booking included a kid, they should provide. But luckily on 2nd day, they provide extra big towel for free because of our frustration with no hot water.

Some more, had to get technician to come change broken shower head and hair dryer with burnt smell throughout our short stay.

Conclusion : dirty hotel with big lasting problem with no hot water.

I will never come back to this hotel again. Worst.

Only good thing is ample parking and near Wednesday...

Now I guess a different management takes over the place. Some of the decorations were taken away, maybe sold off to. New staffs too. Overall quality was slightly lower than before. Understandable as all hotels are like this as a result from the pandemic. U could notice the difference. 1 lift not in service(2 in total). Closed Sky Bar, except on Saturday maybe. Same goes to Room Service, perhaps? Because the staff at the reception doesn't seem too confident when I asked. The next day, I called the 'Coffee House' number but the person who picked up the call thought it was a prank call. 😅 I had to hurry at the time, so I just ended the call assuming there isn't a room service after all. Closed towel counter at the pool along with gents toilet closed. TVs in my room had speaker and channel problems. Toilet hose was leaked(fixed that night we checked in). Breakfast was kind of bad on 1st day. Unorganised, other guests were not delicate and unhygienic while helping themselves. One kid even played and mashed the fruits by bare hands. Parents couldn't even care less. I don't know where these batch of guests came from, at least have a sensible ethics. Complained and surprisingly actions were taken! 👍 The following days were controlled & better. But the scrambled eggs(buffet) was really bland tasteless 😅. Next day, u can taste the butter but still a bit tasteless. At the very least, salt & pepper should be on every table not upon request( Had to ask seriously to get this😅). Nevertheless some food were good too! Like the dumplings and porridge 😋. Some staffs are good but some doesn't really know how to treat guests.

I recently stayed at Goldsand Hotel in Langkawi, and it was a great experience. The location is fantastic, with Eagle Square and Maha Tower nearby, and plenty of food and shopping options within walking distance. We requested an early check-in, and the staff was accommodating, allowing us to check in around 1:30 PM instead of the usual 3:00 PM, which was much appreciated. The rooftop view is stunning, offering a breathtaking sight of Kuah Town and the sea—a perfect spot to unwind. For food lovers, there are Indian restaurants like Annachi Mess, Apaathas, and Taj Palace just a short walk(15-20 minutes) away. If you plan to explore Langkawi, the famous Kilim Geoforest Park is only a 25-30 minute drive from the hotel. The hotel staff was polite, and room service was good. They provided two water bottles daily, but any extra bottles were chargeable. A tip for travelers: buy water from Eco-Shop (close to the hotel) where you can get household items at very affordable prices. Overall, Goldsand Hotel offers a comfortable stay with great service, a prime location, and fantastic views. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Langkawi!

Goldsands Hotel is not recommended at all. My experience here was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Before booking, they showed fake pictures of a gym, but when I arrived, I found out there is no gym at all – just a blatant lie to mislead guests. The hotel itself is dirty, with a bad smell throughout, including my room. Basic things didn’t work: the phone charger, a bedside lamp, and even essential fixtures like the door and toilet were in poor condition. The Wi-Fi was practically useless, possibly the worst I’ve encountered in a hotel, and to make things even worse, there was barely any hot water, especially at night. As for the TV, it doesn’t work well with the internet, and it’s incredibly slow. Just to load Netflix takes about 3 minutes – a joke for a hotel service. The only decent part of my stay was breakfast, which was actually good. Other than that, this hotel doesn’t offer any real service worth mentioning. I would absolutely never book here again, and I suggest others stay away from this one-star (or rather, zero-star if I could) hotel.
