Hotel Seri Malaysia Ion Delemen — Hotel in Pahang

Had arranged for a simple one night stay and requested for additional decoration to celebrate a friend's birthday. Gloria residences had requested for additional payment, which i gladly topped up, for the preparations and to have a cake prepared.

We arrived at the hotel early in the morning (approx 930am when check in was supposed to be at 3pm) and was informed that we were unable to have an early check in as the staff needed to prepare for the decor. We agreed, so we went to do our own thing before coming back again at 430pm to check in.

However at 430pm, we found out that the room was not ready and no preparations were done. We were made to wait an additional half hour before being informed that they were unable to proceed with our request (oversight? forgot?) and that made me really upset as this was an additional service I paid for (upon their request).

Although the situation was highly unpleasant, I would like to commend their staff, Keith, who handled the situation as best as he could. He gave us a free room upgrade, fully refunded my additional payment, and gave us a personalized cake FOC for the birthday boy.

Also, he offered to give us a discount for our dinner at the nearby restaurant.

Was pleased with how he handled the situation. Yes, mistakes will be made at work and I am sure not just one person is at fault for the oversight, but at least the management was sincere in following up on it.

In addition, my friend left behind her pouch with some valuables and we contacted Keith for help (even after we left the hotel), and they managed to find it after 2 days. We are grateful for the supportive staff.

One of the worse hotels I have ever stayed. Had a good experience when I stayed in Grand Ion Delemen Hotel last year; therefore decided to try Gloria Residences Ion Delemen this time round since it’s newer than Grand Ion Delemen Hotel. The checking in/out process are consider fast since there are too much staffs at the reception, but the services provided are bad and seems like not all are well-trained. When I was there, there was another guest completing his check-in and I heard the staff explaining to him about the shuttle bus services, etc, but the staff attended to me did not explain anything. I requested for two single beds and the staff did a verification with me again during check-in and confirmed my room is two single beds, but when I entered the room, it was one double bed. Tried to call the reception, but the phone is spoilt; therefore I need to go down personally. The time is almost 2pm and the staff confirmed they will help to setup 2 single beds, but when I am back from Genting after 9pm, nothing is done. They only contacted the room services department after I go to them again. I know there was construction going on, the rooms are new but not properly maintained. When I opened the door, the room is extremely smelly, especially for the toilet. There are also a lot of bugs on the bed and I need to spray insects repellant before I sleep, the bed sheets are also dirty with patches of yellow and red stains. I only love the quietness there since it’s far away from the shopping mall and casino, but I will definitely not going to stay...

Service apartments in Genting Highlands. Location wise, this is a few km from the casino/shops/entertainment area of Genting Highlands. Make sure you have your own transport otherwise you need to rely on the shuttle bus which has limited capacity and run only at certain times.

There is little in the vicinity of this place except the construction of several hillside service apartments similar to this.

This part of the mountain seems colder in temperature and windy compared to the Genting resort area. This is the only thing I like about this place. Otherwise the units are average. The developer of this building doesnt seem to have done a very good job and hotel maintenance is mediocre. They are building even more buildings in the area which makes the place dusty and probably not good if you have any lung conditions. Like many places in Malaysia, developers seem to be able to build all sorts of buildings anywhere even on steep mountainsides. Although it is good to have alternative accommodation other than those owned by Genting group, i think this area is being over developed.

Hotel service seems reasonable and friendly. Not sure if it is because of business been slow due to the viral outbreak. Maintenance and building quality seems poor though.
