My wife & I chose this budget hotel for a 2-night stay, basically for its location. Depending on traffic condition, it's within a 5- to 10-minute drive to eating places (e.g. Jalan Bandar Timah, Jalan Yau Tet Shin) or food courts in nearby Ipoh Gardens and Medan Selera Stadium. This is also one of the budget hotels with its own car park albeit limited bays. ||Checking-in was a breeze and the staff were friendly. This hotel is not suitable for those who have walking difficulty or use wheelchairs as there's a flight of stairs to the first floor and the lift at the end of the hall way. Be prepared to lug your luggage to your room.||Our room (#226) was at the back (probably the older wing) and face a school. Fortunately, school was out for the year-end holiday. Room size was decent for the rate we paid. During our stay, the room was made up daily and replenished with 2 bottles of water and 2 packets of 3-in-1 Ipoh White Coffee (no tea bags). A kettle is provided. ||The air-con was a comparatively old but worked effectively to cool the room. Couldn't get any channels on the non-LCD television. Strong wi-fi signal, but couldn't log in. The bed -- firm mattress but this cannot be said of the pillows; ength of the blanket too short.||Bathroom -- no toiletry provided; shower faucet plus bodywash/shampoo dispenser. Strong pressure with hot water. However, you'll have to wait for the water in the tank to heat up if your spouse or roommate has used up the hot water. Well-worn...
Read moreI arrived in September and stayed for 14 days due to a mandatory quarantine order upon entry from Singapore. I was assigned a room on the second floor. The room appears to be deplorable. To name a few examples, there is a stained carpet, dusty air conditioning fan coil, vandalized walls, and a dirty bedsheet.
Because the air conditioning was too loud, I requested a room change. I was moved to a room on the same floor with similar conditions except for the noisy air conditioning. I sanitized the room upon enter, but the fan coil remains dusty and the bedsheet was filthy. I requested that my bedsheet be changed because I was itching after siting on the bed and never use the comforter since (suspect bed bugs).
I had two horrible experiences that I believe the hotel management should look into with immediate. My room's power went out one of the afternoon and a fire alarm went off at 1 a.m. on a quiet night. No service staff from the hotel attended to me being a Guest when the fire alarm was ringing and it continue for a good 15 minutes!!! Fortunately BOMBA arrives after receiving a call from the hotel guest!!! Seriously??!!??
I will never return to this hotel, and I would advise you to avoid it if you...
Read moreDecent room size for room quarantine. Quarantined for 2 weeks. You can also do your own workout. Queen bed size so you can stretch out your sleep. HOWEVER, i felt the place was haunted. Can feel the eerie energy when night time comes. Also, close the curtains when sleeping. First few nights, i decided to not close the curtains ( too lazy ), my bed was facing the window too. I keep having uneasy sleep. Like waking up cold sweats a few times in the middle of the night. Happens a few times and I thought was me being not in my surroundings but next few nights keep happening, idk why. So i just close the curtains and my sleep was much improved. However you still can feel the eerie energy around. I just choose to ignore although Im not superstitious but could really feel the "uneasy" vibes when sleeping. I dont even know how i managed to pass through 2 weeks. Just dont think too much when u stay there and ignore as much as you can. Or turn on television to have some...
