Mona Restaurant — Restaurant in Perak

I don’t normally leave reviews, but Mona Restaurant in Ipoh, Perak completely blew me away. I ordered the Iberico Back Ribs, and I genuinely mean it when I say they were the best ribs I’ve ever had in my life. They were perfectly cooked — incredibly tender, juicy, and just the right amount of sweetness in the glaze. Every bite melted in my mouth. I could’ve eaten another plate, that’s how good they were.

The ambiance of the restaurant was also a standout. It’s a beautifully designed space — cozy, stylish, and perfect for a relaxing night out. The atmosphere made me feel comfortable right away.

What really tied everything together was the staff. They were warm, welcoming, and made me feel like a valued guest. Service was prompt, and they were happy to explain the menu and check on us regularly without being overbearing.

If you’re ever in Ipoh, Perak, you have to stop by Mona. This was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. I’m still thinking about those ribs — absolutely...

This restaurant serves delicious food but, unfortunately, falls short when it comes to service. While the dishes are well-prepared and flavourful, the overall dining experience is let down by poor service. Upon arrival, we had to wait a while just to get a table, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. Once seated, getting a menu took even longer , making the wait feel unnecessarily frustrating. The staff seems like need to undergo some training. Another major issue was the cleanliness of the cutlery. Some utensils still had visible stains, which was quite off-putting. It's something that should be addressed immediately to maintain hygiene standard. It would be better if there're more vegetarian options. If Mona improves its services and cleanliness, it could be a fantastic place to dine. Until thin, it's a spot worth visiting for the food-but be prepared for some frustration...

pleasantly suprised! appetisers was oysters, they r pretty small and thin, i see the added caviar on top, which is not a good sign, but it tasted good, i got the aftertaste in mouth like oysters should. 1st entree was scallops risotto, i took a bite of the plain risotto and it was very flavourful, it absorbed good stock. 2 entree was beef ribs…visually not appealing but its tender and robust the flavour. what stands out was the carrot mash! base on these 2 dishes i would say, their food is very bold in flavours, just before the edge of over seasoning the food. i had to wait till later in the evening if i have this thirst in my throat but it did mot happen, so the flavours were real, not msg boosted! i will go to try their other dishes, it made a...
