Just had a very prolonged lunch with the family. Expected there would be some delays as it is due to Mother’s Day. But interestingly, they disallow early booking nor early ordering to avoid the messy situation that they find themselves in. We came at 12.45pm and ordered drinks and food at about 1pm. Some drinks for our party came after 30 minutes. The thali meal set that was ordered came after but the drinks for the people who ordered the thali meals sets never came until way after they finished their meals. To make it worse, bread sets and other dishes that were ordered were extremely late (late to the extent that people who came after us and ordered the same things received their orders way before us. After many reminders, basically the staff kept saying that the orders are being made fresh. The one that took the cake was that the staff was surprised that there were many orders that were yet to be served to us! She thought the order was completed! A supervisor who was there disappeared into the kitchen and never came out despite asking to talk to the person in charge. Our final part of our order only was served at 2.40pm! Place was left to be run by poor foreign staff who were completely overwhelmed and unable to coordinate the orders. Some left after realising that the place was in a mess. The food was nice but the service is terrible. Charging service charge/tax for such poor and shoddy service is a travesty. Owner must be accountable. Unfortunately Ipoh Indian food has this problem frequently… Good food (sometimes) but service is tardy and horrible. For those who have all the time in the world and accept poor and inefficient service but are wanting to try good food, please feel free to come here. Otherwise stay clear of the place if time is of essence. Reasons like having too many orders are acceptable if you serve the orders accordingly to the tables that made the orders. When you skip orders and make diners wait like fools, then it is...
Read moreIt was one of the worst dining experiences Ive had in Ipoh city as an ardent foodie Ipohite. I went there today but the first big disappointment came in the form of the serving of the food which took more than an hour to arrive at our table....and that also after i complained to the waitress!! And it was just the 2 of us. We only ordered 2 simple banana leaf meals which are nothing that complicated to prepare!! It was so delayed and in fact we saw many customers walking out of the place without bothering to wait that long!!!! But we still waited....And after we got the food....the next disappointment came where we were even more put off!! The food was served on a leaf laid on top of a tray. But some of the items served were placed carelessly on the tray and not on the leaf! Disgusting!! And they served a so called payasam along with the meal. This "payasam" was nothing but a tiny cup of diluted sugary milk with nothing else in it!! I also ordered tandoori chicken and crispy fried prawns as a couple of add ons to my non veg banana leaf meal!! But to add on to my disgust and shock even further...the RM 10 tandoori chicken was just a tiny tiny piece of chicken and the RM 13 crispy prawns were merely 4 pieces of small prawns!! AND MY BILL FOR JUST THE 2 OF US FOR ONE VEG BANANA LEAF MEAL AND ONE NON VEG BANANA LEAF MEAL WITH 2 BUTTERMILK....CAME UP TO A BLARING RM 80!!!! A TOTAL SHAMELESS RIP OFF!! I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE EVER!! ITS AN UTTERLY DISAPPOINTING RESTAURANT!!! THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER MUCH BETTER RESTAURANTS IN IPOH TO ENJOY A GOOD DINING EXPERIENCE. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND...
Read moreLoved everything about this place, from the traditional, welcoming and charming ambiance to the taste of authentic Indian food. Huge variety of indian cuisines, side dishes and starters to choose from the menu & some nice relaxing indian music were played there as well. It was such a great experience.
Came here on a Thursday night (02/11/2023) with my family for my sis's mini birthday dinner and can honestly say it's one of the best Indian fine dining in Ipoh.
I have to say, we have enjoyed every single bite of the meal in Taal Indian Cuisine. We had lamb and chicken briyanis (generous portions for 4 pax) with chicken vindaloo and mutton kadai as the side dishes. And a garlic naan with two chai masala teas and a cup of cow milk bru coffee.
Considering the quality & quantity of the foods, the price is reasonable. We loved all the food items but those garlic naan had a something special about it, it was crisp and felt like a homemade one. This place is ideal for those who want to celebrate any occasions or just do visit this place to experience the dining here. There was also plenty of space for bigger groups. Last but not least, the staffs are also attentive, and always efficient, happy and polite. They served the meals rapidly and kept on checking on us if we need anything.
Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat a good indian cuisines. Highly reccomend!
