stayed 1 night. we became insects predator upon entry to the bedroom. we also helped them with the unique odour of the bathroom by placing an air freshener (bought from the lobby shelves) at the back of the door. our children slept peacefully, thanks to the baby mattress we brought along. it helped to keep them from rolling over the hotel's pet ants on the bed. the wall shelves in the room was nicely placed, slightly slanted. the pantry area has a kettle, an antique mini fridge with complimentary drinking water, but we politely said thanks to the fridge. the open wardrobe concept is ok, it has stable hanging rod, so don't worry about the peeling wood laminate so much. just beware of the fusebox. try not to touch it. we entertained ourselves watching a very dark movie, only to realise a few moments later it's not a movie, just a blank screen with no satellite signals whatsoever. if you forgot to bring along a towel, fret not. enjoy the warmth of discoloured piece of cloth drying your body after a series of confusion whether you had a warm/cold shower. there's a balcony facing the sea, easily accessible as we don't have to unlock it. no worries though, thanks to their pet insects, the children won't get near to opening the sliding door by themselves. there's a common ironing area. love the ironing board. the lift is the most interesting thing you will find here. it's a subtle reminder to not overfeed yourselves during dinner time so you can still fit in the lift and get back to your room almost comfortably. at bedtime, you will hear sweet lullabies from the funfair just a few steps from the hotel lobby. this will last until you're fast asleep. breakfast is wonderful. the pet ants help you identify if the juice is sweet enough or just overly diluted. checking in and checking out is easy...
Read moreThe staff attempted to charge the tourist tax that has been suspended until 2021. This tax relief was put in place to assist the hospitality industry and yet this establishment decided to try and abuse this. Given that due to the movement control order any visitors will be either Malaysian citizens or people residing in Malaysia this is a particularly naive course of action. Blatantly trying to rip people off.||||The rooms (203 & 205) were filthy.||Everything was falling to pieces.||The TV didn't work.||There was a night market right outside the window that went onto midnight. It was withing the hotel grounds so they cannot deny knowledge of it happening. The "band" had less musical talent than a group of drowning rats. The volume (and particularly bass) were turned up to 11.||The beds were as hard as stone.||Sheets had holes and bloodstains on them, plus several other stains that we did not wish to attempt to identify.||Non-smoking rooms came with ash trays and the heavy stench of smoke.||Adherence to the RMCO SOPs was poor, c.half of staff were not wearing masks when within 1m of each other or guests,||There are two lifts. Only one works, it sounds/feels like it will die at any moment. Looking at the reviews the second lift has not worked in a long time.||Little or no maintenance appears to have been done at this hotel since it was last decorated. This was probably in around 1990. It seemed possible that this was also when rooms 203 and 205 were last cleaned.||||Unfit for...
