Hotel Grand Continental Kuala Terengganu (4 Star) — Hotel in Terengganu

I stayed here from 17-19/8..I was shocked when I saw the condition of the bathroom. When was the last time the housekeeping staff cleaned the the bath tub area? Black spottings (fungi?) are everywhere!! Toiletries are super basic - just the soap, shower gel, and shampoo. You don't even provided us with tissue for the room and laundry bags. The worst has yet to come.

What were you thinking when you served expired muffins to the guests?? Thank god I did not bite the muffin straight away. I scooped the muffin with a spoon and guess what?? DAH BERLENDIR LAH MUFFINS TU!! Apa uols ingat muffins tu macam pizza ke?? Bila gigit bertali2 cheese..yikesssss!!! The next day, I tried the muffin again. Same thing happenned. I can't stand it anymore. I called 1 of the waiters, and showed her the expired muffin. I even demonstrated to her to show the lendir. She said that she will asked the chef..tunggu lamaaaaaa xde pun she came back and clarified to us. I called another waiter in suit, again showing him the lendir. He said he will ask the kitchen staff. Sampai kitorg abis breakfast xde dapat apa2 feedback pun..so dissapointing!!

The only thing that I love about this hotel is the location. It is very strategic. Easy access to Kampung Cina, Jambatan Angkat, Pasar Payang etc..lots of hipster cafes around the hotel as well..just walking distance.

P/s: To the hotel management, please improve on the facilities and service..ohh I call the housekeeping tak pernah yg berangkat. Sampai nak mintak tukar towel pun kena call...

This is by far the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. I don’t know where they got the 4 stars from! We survived the room on 11/10/22 for a night.

At check in; it took me about 20 minutes to get checked in, I was the only person checking in at the time.

Was given a room with one single bed and a queen. The room was covered in mold and dust. Oh God, don’t get me started with the dust! Every corner of the room is covered in dust; the TV, bedside tables, telephone, remote. If you intend to get Covid, or even lung infection from the mold, stay here.

The single bed sheet had a stain on it. The fridge was full with dust and mold.

We were too disgusted and we called housekeeping to have the room cleaned. The two staff that came simply laughed it off. They came with additional duvet cover and changed the bedsheet. We repetitively told them to also wipe the dust and clean the fridge, but they ignored the request until we reminded them to at least wipe the dusts off before they walked out.

Here comes the best part! They used the duvet cover to “wipe” the dust off the TV and tables! Dry duvet cover sending dusts flying everywhere in the room.

I was awaken at 4am with strong smell of cigarette smoke! Someone was smoking in the corridor..

For a RM354/night room, I did not expect this level of hospitality and dirtiness at all! Avoid this place if you can. See pictures to give...

First of all, this is an old hotel. I don’t even know whether they had the chance to refurbish the premise ever since I left Terengganu almost 19 years ago.

1. The cleaners didn’t change the trash bin in the bathroom that was overflowing with tissues.
2. The glass near the bath tub seem like it wasn’t wiped/cleaned for years
3. Cleaners didn’t change the almost finished toilet roll. When asked for a new one they just said that they were out and offered to give normal tissues. i’m sighing so hard as I write this review
4. My comforter had yellow stains on it. Complained about it at the counter and was just met with a disappointing but not surprising reply. “Sorry our cleaners have gone back home, we’ll give you an extra bedsheet”
5. The coffee sachet that they have in the room was hard as rock. Wonder if it has expired or something. Went to the counter again and was given a reply “tu la keras. Ye la, haah keras. Tak tahu la ni brand apa” when mum asked why the coffee was like that.

Overall it just feels dirty and musty. The room carpet, the bathroom. I also questioned myself whether the comforter, pillow, bed are clean.

For RM260/night, do yourself a favor and find other place to stay the night.

However I hope the Management would consider a refurbishment. You guys really need it.

10/10 would not recommend this place to family, friends or...
