I spent 4 nights at this facility. While the facility is nice and clean and my nurses were attentive it is the administration that has issues.
My nights were booked direct from my surgeon and the price given before and what I was charged was different. That could be on either facility and not the reason for this review. The biggest issue I had was the way things changed when they wanted their money 2 days before I left. They only accept Zelle or cash and you must pay Zelle friends and family so they don’t get fees. This means no protection for you is something happens. If you want to use a credit card so the exchange happens correctly they charge 11%. This is against their government laws and that is not ok. But when you are there with people standing over the top of you , that is not the time to fight about it. I was in a foreign country.
My care changed, my meds got messed up and my vitals were no longer important I guess (except for the am nurse).
After two days of Zelle not allowing me to process a second payment and me being on the phone with them after a 7:30 am demand for money I took the cash I brought to use for tips and essentials and paid my bill. I didn’t travel with a lot of cash…I had surgery and let’s face it you sleep a lot during that time and the doors are open to anyone walking in. ATM charges were over $30 to get more cash and then of course your bank may decline because of foreign travel until you call them.
I happily moved to another hotel (Quartz, this was pre planned to allow for my husband to have more to do as I healed) and was treated way better. They happily took my credit card and check in and had all the amenities needed including nurses on staff if needed. Room service if needed as well but way more food options and also a way better area to walk around and be moving. They also have transportation to get you to appointments.
The transportation was also to be included but they decided I owed them for one of the trips as well. It was $10 but it was supposed to be included.
I did like my am nurse, super sweet and very helpful, I wish her a ton of success!
They did have good food but chicken and/or eggs every meal got old and they put the items on my excluded list on my plate 3 times.
I hope this helps others trying to decide after surgery where to stay and where...
Read moreListen up ladies, if you’re going to TJ to get any work done and are considering booking a recovery house you will be in the best hands at Zen Recovery. I live alone in LA and didn’t have anyone available to help take care of me post lipo 360 + BBL. I booked Zen for 6 nights and I wish I could have stayed longer. My first nurse was Jakie and she was amazing, so sweet and knowledgeable. I was one day post op and so out of it (still on heavy medication from the hospital) as soon as I got there she got me into my bed and turned on the AC without me having to ask. She knew I was feeling pretty bad since that was my first time moving around since my surgery. I didn’t have to say anything she did everything to make me feel better and more comfortable. My next nurse for the rest of my stay was Vanelli. Honestly my best friend there. I can be pretty shy and independent but I was so useless post op she literally showered me, helped me use the restroom, was there for me after painful massages when I cried lol. I’m so grateful to have both Jakie and Vanelli as my nurses I feel like they were my guardian angels during my recovery. They knew exactly how I would be feeling without me even having to say it. The booking coordinator Marcia was also another angel in my corner during recovery. I only had one faja and she went out of her way to get me the right size stage 1 faja. She also went out of her way to come in multiple times to check on me. They really treat you like family here. If you are looking for a recovery home this is the place. You get your own room, you have a safe box for valuable items like cash & passport. There’s a common area with a playstation and games, and even an outdoor common area which is really nice to get some sunlight and fresh air. Even the kitchen staff is so nice William was so sweet! They also have laundry service and they keep the rooms and common areas super clean.
Also have massages, facials, manicures & pedicures available for a way better price then in the states. If you have a friend or partner who wants to come they also allow them to stay with...
Read moreThe place was very clean and rooms are spacious. They provided 3 meals and 2 snacks daily. Food tastes AMAZING🤤!!! They have additional area to socialize, play game and do activities during your stay. Staff was so kind and patient. They were really professional and made you feel cared for. They were literally there at your every need, they provide you with a call button and would actually check on you at a timely manner; without making you feel like you are bugging. The staff was knowledgeable and educated where it comes to post op care. When addressing any wound care. they took the correct measures to keep the wound areas clean using aseptic technique. Overall staff is very well rounded people. They also had additional services that are not included to purchase such as massages, extra fajas to switch out when yours gets dirty, etc. There was only one staff nurse that did not check on me for almost half the day but when the next nurse came in for her shift she was very attentive. Other than that ONE nurse everyone was wonderful including the manager. There is male staff but they do treat you with dignity and respect. They really made you feel at home. My doctor also come to check on me during my stay to evaluate my progress. I definitely recommend this place. It is one of the few places in Tijuana that is a certified place which means they will provide professional medical services beyond the one they provide at the recovery home. On the last day they did not rush me out, they helped me with all my belongings and not once did I have to worry they would steel. They were welcoming from beginning till the end. The whole arrangement from medical transportation to reserving the stay at the recovery house was all done through my doctor, so I would not be able to answer how was my experience was booking directly with them. Please do your research and make sure HWRecovery is one the places to stay. They have social media so you can also check them out on IG and I’m sure they also have Facebook but I...
