Motel Encuentro — Hotel in Baja California

Very clean, staff more than responsive to requests, offering to help with many things. Understand, this is mainly a 'no-tell motel', car ports with curtains under each room. Sunday-Thursday prices are cheap enough, given the clean room and comfortable beds. But Friday-Saturday the price nearly doubles, which is not good value. If the 'sounds of love' bother you, maybe this isn't your best choice, but I found it non-intrusive, except once...

Area is OK, in day time many street vendors for food, including carnitas on the corner of Paseo de Los Heroes a seafood taco/tostada place on an adjacent corner, and a great little street restaurant one block west, with indoor tables, great breakfast, lunch (open @7:00, closed @4:30), and super-friendly staff. Little English, no written English (specials daily), but it all gets across. Inexpensive.

To the east, on Paseo at Blvd de Las America's (big street) there are many diners, and various places from a Subway to a Chinese place, sushi takeout/delivery (2x1!), Cuban food, etc.

In spite of its main calling, I never saw any untoward behavior there; on the contrary, the staff were helpful, even protective during my three-week stay.

Recommended for adults on a budget and of down-to-earth sensibilities.

Near stellar. Would book again. Doesn't look like much on the outside but appearances were definitely deceiving. The guy at the receptionist was always genuinely friendly and helpful despite him needing to use Google Translate to communicate with us.

The room smelled and looked clean upon arrival. Was pretty close to immaculately clean. Cleaning crew was always out and about. Friendly guy in the laundry room helped me with trash & toilet paper.

The units are set up so you're not a centimeter away from the next room.

Stellar location. Especially with a car or if you Uber everywhere.

Pros: Super clean room, super friendly staff, close to a wide variety of food options either by car or foot

Cons: No lobby, no microwave or little fridge, spotty internet...

mala experiencia hoy en día fines de semana dicen que no hay habitaciones para toda la noche a menos que se pague extra.. fui con mi jefe americano soy su traductora mandamos a pedir toallas extras y nos querían cobrar 100 pesos por toalla que por qué tenía una leve mancha de maquillaje.. les dimos 100 pesos por el remplazo y como vieron eso hablo la de recepción enojada que ahora quería 100 pesos por toalla nos hicieron bajar de la habitación que por qué nos correrían si no pagamos las toallas bajamos a ver las toallas no las quisieron mostrar y grosera mente me dijeron que me callara que querían solo hablar con mi jefe el no habla nada de español pero les dijo hablar a la policía y decidieron dejar todo por la paz.. y dijeron que ya no iba a volver a ver otro ingreso para nosotros. que mal perder a buenos clientes frecuentes por ambición y el detalle es que son los empleados. doy pésima calificacion y aclarar bien sus costos y precios por día . les sugiero en ves de robar de esa manera tan tonta mejor dar bien servicio para generar propinas me gusta dar propinas cuando los mismos empleados van y preguntan si se nos ofrece algo . es la mejor manera que cobrar por toallas con maquillaje.. o cobrar por persona extra. pequeño tip.. éramos chicas transgenero y decían que tenían sangre las toallas jajaja no regalamos por suerte.. la fallo...
