I booked a room for me and my family for a couple of days this past weekend. I saw the hotel on google and liked what they offered and the way it looked in the pictures. When I got there, I was completely disappointed when they helped me to my room. One of their staff members walked us over to the building across the street, except that I saw the next day, the name on the front of the building said “El Hotel De Tijuana.” I thought they were going to put us at Hotel La Mesa, but instead, they led us to a building behind the Hotel De Tijuana, to a third building. This building had one floor only on top of the underground parking. Our room did not look like anything they show you in the pictures. The mattresses on the beds were hard, the water pressure on the shower was weak, and the room looked very old. The worst part was that at night the A/C units from the rooms located in the middle of the floor kept you awake all night. There was a couple of dogs barking all night as well from the surrounding neighborhood. The next day I took my daughter to the swimming pool. We had to walk one flight of stairs down to the parking garage, walk over to the parking garage under Hotel De Tijuana, go up two flights of stairs to the overpass bridge, then two flights of stairs down to the pool area. Hopefully you brought your ID with you because in order to get towels for the pool, you need to leave your ID at the front desk. If you forgot your ID, you’re going to have to trek back to your room the same way. Once you settle down in the pool area, you better not want to use the restroom because you’re going to have to make another trip to your room once again. And you will have to make that trip again if you need ice, because the ice machine is right next to the pool. I don’t believe for a second this is a four star hotel. I also don’t believe the 3.9 out of 5 rating it has on google. So word to the wise, be ready to cancel your reservation when you get to the hotel and find out that what you booked and what you got, are two totally...
Read moreThey clean rooms everyday without you asking which is very nice but whats not nice is they come knocking at 8 or 9 am The housekeepers need better customer service training, they were speaking really loudly all morning and when i tried to communicate with them about my needs they could not understand me (English nor spanish) . We stayed Saturday night there were alot of younger american tourists making noise but it quited down in the weekdays. The parking is right in the middle of the room so you hear lots of car engines starting up and doors closing .There was no do not disturb signs available. The hotel was clean and location was great. Our favorite part was the heated pool which is reason we booked the hotel. Definitely and amenity hard to find. It was cold though since it was 57 degrees outside but that heated pool helped a little, still chilly but bearable. Complimentary breakfast is only available for those who pay full price per the attendant, we booked through third party and got a deal so no breakfast for us. Lastly they needed to leave more towels for a family of 4 we would always get only 1 washcloth (which they never replaced in the 4 days there ) and two...
Read moreI am very disappointed on my last stay on this hotel. I normally enjoy my time here despite the hard beds and poor internet connection. During our last stay we didn’t have any hot water for several hours. We called the reception for help with this matter and they said they would send someone to help but never did. The pool area was dirty with several empty beer cans that no staff ever thought about going to clean. To top it off there was no ice available for guest on a hot summer day. I tried having the front desk help me feel a bit better by providing a bit of attention and they didn’t care to make things better. I told them I would leave a review with the details of my stay and the main manager, Alberto Dias didn’t seem to care to about all the issues we encountered during our stay. The night manager did tell me that he would not care, and that since he took over they’re quality service has gone down. If you can stay somewhere else do so, hopefully you will have better customer service...
