Origen Specialty Coffee — Restaurant in Campeche

We stumbled accross this place by accident, but now that I see the reviews, I know they are legit. To say that these people are passionate about coffee would be an understatement. I have, maybe, an above average appreciation and knowledge, but I certainly not at this level. Still, I know a good cup when I taste it. We spent a while talking with the owners and learned that all the coffee here is sourced from Mexico, much of it from family farms that have recently changed from bulk production to artisenial small batch production. They have a variety of coffee beverages including some beautiful cold coffee "mocktails" all produced with an amazing attention to detail and pride. The food is fresh. Our waitress was superb and spoke English and Spanish. The baked goods are excellent. Frappes were excellent. We highly recommend this Cafe. Limited seating... we arrived about 1115 am.. we were the only people inside, by 1145 am the place was full. Try the hanging chairs by the front window. The decor is very attractive. REAL coffee. In Mexico. My wife and I like dark roast coffee. Mexico coffee lacks the depth of flavor we usually enjoy. Origen Specialty Coffee has awesome Espresso and traditional coffee with wonderful pastries. I had their chocolate brownie, it was still warm and very delicious. Normally people take photos of the food before they eat. My photo shows my complete satisfaction with my meal, an empty plate.
