I stayed for several nights in Jan. of this year. It is a small hotel, colonial style, and all areas were very attractive. I had a single room, which was a bit small but very nice and had everything needed: bedside tables, desk and chair, closet, tv. It had both AC and a ceiling fan. Everything was in very nice condition and the bathroom was quite pretty. By the reception there was a small area to sit, and there was also a roof-top lounge area. Coffee, tea and purified water were provided. The hotel is quite close to the center; you can easily walk around that area and to the ocean, as well as walk in the other direction to where the large market area is. I was very impressed with the service in the hotel. The woman working most of the time in reception (Mariana) was extremely nice and helpful. She got me a city map, gave me advice on places to go, replenished the teas when they ran out, sent out for a room safe when I requested one, and in general helped make my stay very pleasant. I also found the other employees friendly and efficient. There was no problem with noise (my room was some distance from the reception.) Overall, a great place to stay, and the price was also great (I paid more for worse hotels on...
Read moreI stayed here for just one night on a quick visit to Campeche. I have booked several hotels in the last 6 weeks so cannot remember exactly what hotel has what by the time i get there, I have just seen on the reviews (after I stayed) that there was a rooftop terrace, swimming pool and coffee !! None of these was I made aware of when I was there.||I was also not aware on booking that my room would basically not have a window - its maybe 4 inches wide, so next to no natural light. I know this is the design of the building but I find that very claustrophobic and when it has been the case in other places, it has been made clear that there is no window.||That said, this was a very cheap place and if I had spent this little in the UK I would have literally got nothing.||Better communications needed...
Read moreThe room and location were good, but service was not. We almost missed our bus because the early morning taxi we ordered the day before wasn't there. We didn't receive any help when our credit cards were blocked (nota bene after our banks said they had blocked them after the hotel tried to use them) and we asked if we could call our bank to deblock the cards (even though we proposed to pay for it). The smoke alarm in our corridor beeped every two minutes (day and night) because its battery was almost dead. We asked staff to replace it twice because it was quite annoying. They said they would, but they didn't. On the plus side: there is free coffee in the lobby, which gave us the energy to run...
