First full disclosure. I have partied at the owner's private bar several times through the years when I have visited Campeche. That said, if I passed him on the street I'm certain I wouldn't know him. When my brother-in-law led me into this place it blew me away! This in the best pirate themed place I've ever seen! They spent a lot of creative energy, time and money on the decor! Every detail is covered. They even painted the split head air conditioning unit to look like wooden treasure chests. The bigger than life pirate figures are amazing! So how about the food? We had a couple beers. They have XX on draft and the usual bottled stuff. Free snacks (lite botanas) are brought. We ordered one item to split. The Aguachile de Cameron. It was delishous! There are a few places in the "new world" that has real pirate history. Places like Tortuga, several islands in the carabbean, the southeastern costal states of USA and Campeche, Mexico! The old city was built with stone wall fortifications around it to ward of pirate raiders! Barqo 59 is a place were you can have fun and be entertained with all the pirate lore in bigger than life size! It's like Disneyland without the prices! This place is about a year old now and is an instant must visit when I bring family or friends to Campeche! Easy to find on Ave. 59 between the land door and the sea door! Inside the historic wall city. Except for the classic 15' high cielings you would never know this place was an old...

I don’t understand where the good feedback is coming from. We waited very long until our food came. The food of my boyfriend and mine did not come at the same time. We ordered two fries and two times chicken, but we only got one chicken. Also the chicken was some small sloggy nuggets with sauce on them with five stripes of carrots and celery. A very small portion. We had to ask for the check 3 times. And waited almost one hour for it. I was almost about to go without paying. Only two good things: The guy working at the ‘entrance’ is friendly and speaks good English. He had to help the waiters all the time with the orders. And the Daiquiris were...

Right from sitting down with friends, I knew this place was going to memorable experience from the professional wait staff in the front of the house and the back of the house chefs. Great personable service with very flavourful food. A great place to dine and just a great time as the night moves on. The DJ mixing the music was spot on!...
