Clean, Quiet, Comfortable and Affordable
I was very pleased overall with this place. It's one of the best budget hotels I've stayed in anywhere in the world with well-kept rooms, secure facilities, as well as a delicious and filling hot breakfast. The rooms are smaller but comfortable. I only wish there had been a chair to sit in somewhere.
The staff were kind, helpful and very competent. I had a beeping smoke detector battery on my floor that was looked after almost immediately after my arrival. I got great directions to the beach and other money saving tips. My only suggestions for the hotel would be to add a few more tables with umbrellas around the pool.
One of the great things about this place is it's proximity to a lot of restaurants and services. Others have described the Plaza Los Americas but there's also a hospital with a full service cafeteria and pharmacy next door. There's a convenience store and little eatery just west of the building in the Dolphin Plaza and around the corner on Ave. Rodrigo Gomez a series of decent restaurants - seafood, vegetarian, pizza etc. Check out Tradiciones Latte Art Cafe for sure!
Across the highway is a fabulous juice bar and in Peninsula Plaza is one of the most sumptuous Starbucks I've ever encountered and a number of high-end restaurants. If you duck over just little south of the Plaza toward the Pemex station, there are a whole range of fast-food eateries and another convenience store with cheap beer and liquor.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cheap and short get-away (like me) or a transit hotel for a short stay close to the airport. It's not a resort and doesn't pretend to be. It's a traveller's hotel and solid value...
Read moreThis hotel is absolutely a great deal for your dollar. This hotel is exceptionally clean and safe for a couple of Canadian women travelling for leisure we were extremely satisfied with this hotel. Every single day our beds were changed and fresh towels provided along with bottled water in our room. The breakfast included in the rate was delicious - fresh scrambled eggs, fresh fruit (cantelope, watermelon, papaya), yogurt, coffee, juice, cereal, and tacos. There was a little waffle maker that you could make waffles with which were delicious! There was an ice machine (very safe) and a counter top water dispenser with a big bottled water container as well as coffee apple juice and orange juice. The staff were courteous and very friendly and very helpful. For dinner options, there is a local taco place called Tacoria Los Chachalachos and I highly recommend this place for a reasonably priced delicious dinner. This hotel is within walking distance to the Plaza Las Americas (aprox. 1.8 km to walk) and that is where you can catch the R1 or R2 bus to get to the hotel zone/AKA beaches in Cancun. The bus costs...
Read moreThis has been so far the worst experience ever!||I arrived at the hotel and they gave me a room that smelled very, very bad and the bed moved when the ones in the room next door moved. It was very annoying and the experience was terrible. They changed my room and gave me one that had dirty stained bedspreads and the air conditioning did not work. Then someone entered my room with a key and I never found out who it was, it wasn't one of the technicians. The experience was so bad that I had to leave the hotel 30mm after arriving. It was a nightmare. I will never recommend this hotel.|Rooms smell terrible and you can hear everything in the room next door even...
