What a place! The location is great - 25 minute walk into the busy Playa Norte area, or 10 minutes by bike, or 5 minutes by buggy. Recommend bikes or buggies, as the walk is great, but in 30 degree heat, it’s a sweaty one! We hired a buggy for 1 day for $100, did this via IKAL, but on day 3, we decided to hire bikes from a little shop, $100 for 2 bikes for 5 days. We then cycled the whole island every day, the places you can get to on a bike is unbelievable! From Punta Sur to Playa Norte, we cycled every inch. IKAL feels so safe, the main gate is locked after 5pm, and you have a key to open when you arrive home, but Isla on the whole feels so safe. The most beautiful island. We stayed in the garden view room. The boho vibe and decor is great. There’s 2 big bedrooms (one that we used as a wardrobe as there were only the two of us) The kitchenette was perfect for what we needed, we only really ate breakfast in the apartment, but having a fridge was great for snacks and drinks too! The apartment had a kettle, coffee machine, electric stove and lots of plates, cups and glasses, coffee, sugar and even insect spray - everything you need. The bed is so comfy!! As is the sofa for chilling after a long in the sun. Two televisions, one in the master and one in the living space - only 1 English Channel in the living area, but lots of box sets and movies on the bedroom tv. The rooftop area is amazing! Even though there are 3 apartments that can use the rooftop area, we were the only ones up there. Great sea view, sunloungers, table, swings and the cutest little pool. We loved it up there! There is also a small pool on ground level, right next to the lake, it’s very peaceful here. Feeding the turtles off the decking area was cute, the whole place is just amazing! The staff are great, they reply to WhatsApp messages within minutes, whether to book a buggy, or to arrange a massage, the team are great! We had a massage whilst visiting, 2 ladies came to IKAL and we relaxed in the onsite spa for the best deep tissue massage we’ve ever had! We have stayed for 11 nights in total, and could stay for another 11 - we don’t want to leave. Great value for money, great apartment, great staff. Loved it! Highly recommend this place and will definitely be visiting again! Thank you for an amazing holiday...
Read moreIf you want a vacation in paradise where you don't have to plan or worry about anything stay at Ikal in Isla Mujeres. The hosts Adeymar and Adolfo are a breath of fresh air. The minute I booked the resort I was contacted by Adeymar. He is the sweetest, most energetic, full of life host you could ever hope for. He handled everything for me. I am the planner of the group and sometimes that takes away from the vacation because I am worrying about the details for everyone else. When you stay at Ikal the ocean views are stunning, the roof top deck is breath taking, and the rooms are even better than the photos. The best part of Ikal though is Adeymar! He contacted me once I booked the resort and learned about me and my group. He listened and then just took care of everything else and I mean everything; transportation, tours, restaurant recommendations, schedules. Any question I had before the trip or on the trip he was always available. The resort is worth every penny but the best part of Ikal is Adeymar. He...
Read moreWe love to come to Isla and stay at Ikal. We have stayed here twice! Adeymar and Adolfo are the best hosts we have ever stayed with. Adeymar is so helpful in helping us book things even outside the property. He came along with us on our last adventure and took some great photos while we were on a whale shark tour! He even helped us book a private chef to create a wonderful dinner on the rooftop patio.||The property is spacious with a ground level pool and roof top dipping pool. The chairs and hammock upstairs have a beautiful ocean view. The beach across the street is amazing for seashell and sea glass hunting.||We usually stay in the upstairs ocean view unit, and love it. ||Come to Isla and let Adeymar take care of you, you...
