We stayed at the Bahia Tolok which was a hidden gem on Isla Mujeres. Only about a 5 minute taxi ride from the Ferry at city center. As we waited for our room to be ready we ate at the restaurant which is beautiful overlooking the water and parked boats. This restaurant is also a great location to watch the sunset. You can walk the peer if you'd like and there were hammocks right off the deck in the water as well as the end of the peer. Our waiters name was Brian who was extremely friendly, kind and accommodating. He even offered us to play our own music if we liked and hooked my boyfriend up with birthday shots of tequila on our 3rd visit to the restaurant for breakfast. On that particular day it was Halloween so he put the shots of tequila in skull head shot glasses which gave an added touch. I really appreciated his attention to details. The night before the owner told us to come back for the fresh catch of the day the next day but we didn't have enough time as we'd have to pack and check out. During our stay we tried the chilaquiles, quesadilla (best we've ever had!), guacamole, elotes, we had the mixed ceviche twice which was amazing, steak sandwich, steak and eggs, and chicken carbonara which was the best pasta dish we've eaten at a restaurant ever! Oh and the homemade habanero hot sauce was so tasty omg! You can even order breakfast at any time of the day. Absolutely everything was seasoned exceptionally well, large portions, handcrafted cocktails and great prices for the quality. We ate out at many restaurants during our stay but me and my boyfriend agreed that overall the Bahia Tolok restaurant was the best dining experience on Isla. The decor and design of the restaurant as well as the boutique hotel was very beautiful. We will definitely be returning and staying at this property in the near future. Thank you to the Chef, Bartender/waiter Brian, Owner, and amazing staff for your attention to detail and...

My partner and I had an incredible experience at Bahía Tolok! We were initially unsure of what to order, but Chef Robert's recommendations were spot on. The catch of the day and lobster tail were the most delicious things we tried on our entire trip to Mexico! We also enjoyed the fruity mezcalitas and house special cocktail, which were truly spectacular.
The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel comfortable throughout our meal. You can tell they're passionate about what they do!
Highly Recommended:

Read moreFood is hands down the best our group had on the island and we definitely made our rounds. Ambience couldn’t be beat and the staff was super welcoming in an authentic way. Local owner also works as the chef and clearly puts his heart into everything he does. All of us loved the food. I ordered the ham & cheese quesadilla and I’m not sure why I’ve never had such a thing before but I’m already craving another one. We are in this paradise to celebrate our friend’s birthday and when the chef learned this and that our friend is vegan he found a way to provide a delicious dessert she could eat. Beautiful fruits in a homemade raspberry sauce. It was a small gesture but it made our group feel truly appreciated. This place is special, stop by if you have the chance. Inside is perfect for a break from the heat but the outside courtyard is right on the water and the best spot we’ve found for sunsets or just enjoying on the...
