Big apt for two, bright in the day, bed was uncomfortable provided one flat pillow for ea, no extra sheets, ceiling fans on high made loud noise, one sm flat tv with no apps, all programs are Spanish. Internet works. Bathroom comfortable but shower terrible, all bathroom fl gets wet, toiletries were 2 mini bar soap and only 2 towels for 2 guests for 1 week stay. 5 mins hot shower after that cold showers. One main major problem, 1 toilet roll for two guests. I had to call every other day for toilet paper. Sofa uncomfortable, kitchen equipped with the necessary, maybe replace pans, all scratched up. I couldn't understand why No cleaning supplies nor broom or mops. Couldn't mopup the water in bathroom nor sweep all the sand we brought from the beach. We dropped a bottle of beer in the middle of the night, no way to clean it up, we had to use 1 of the 2 towels. Housekeeper, Rosita, nice to leave broom one night after I explained the sand and beer, extra towels and toilet paper. But again we had to ask, toilet paper was not provided automatically. Back garden with grill very, very nice. Lake behind suites, lots of mosquitoes, pls use Off, corner store has Off for purchase and groceries, rum, beer... Suites located in the middle of island, where we had stayed before and we prefer it. Can walk to El Centro, end of street corner store, brewery, stationary store for printing and other restaurants. Our fav was going to next door rest Coco Jaguar, meeting the whole entire staff, just wonderful people, great food and...
Read moreThe positive points: out of the tourist area and nice patio. The employee Romeo is very helpful and polite. Nonetheless i had a bad experience with this hotel. When i arrived i showed the booking confirmation which stated that i should pay 297 Dollar for three nights upon my arrival. But the owner said i should in addition pay the commission fee for the booking platform and asked for 360 Dollar. I insisted for 30 minutes that i have an official bill and that i am not willing to pay more. He reacted in a rude way and at some point even said that "you should learn how to book a hotel, i will not loose money for this". Sorry - but if you decide as a business owner to make use of such a platform, you cannot coerce your hotel guests to finance the commission fee for you. He then offered me a shady deal, where he cancels the reservation in the booking website and i pay in cash. As it was already dark and i am a female solo traveller, i went for it. Yet again there is the risk that the credit card is charged by the platform, i felt uncomfortable with the risk of paying twice. I asked for a receipt three times, but didn't get one until i checked out - this is illegal in Mexico by the way. Regarding the cleanliness: there were hair in the bed and the bathroom and the towel had large yellow staints on it. The toilet brush was super disgusting. For this price there are much...
