Although the hotel itself was pretty well maintained, we had a few issues that made it hard to give it a better review First, the sink was broken. Every time you turned on the hot water, the cold water spout started to leak. from the base, releasing an awful smell of dirty pipes Next, the shower head needs some serious cleaning as it was dispensing water in a chaotic fashion. Upon arriving, staff was friendly. The first request we had, they were attentive, BUT don't expect too much after that. We stayed from Wednesday to Sunday and requested more clean towels that never got delivered to us. On our last day, we called the front desk to request some ice. We were then transferred to the cafeteria, were told by the staff there that they would bring it, and it never came. They answered those calls with a less than enthusiastic attitude, like we were burdening them with these simple requests. The walls are, as others described, paper thin so you can hear other rooms and the activity outside
The plus side is that the hotel felt safe and was within walking distance to shops, clubs, bars and the Cathedral. So if you're looking to sight see but don't mind being ignored by the staff when you need something, this is the...
Read moreI visit GDL many times a year and try different hotels. Unfortunately, this one at ANY price just isn't worth it. The shower head sprays water at every inch of the shower. There was water shooting at the glass shower door, the left side of the shower wall and also above my head. It may be because the shower head is 8 feet high but it was a miserable and unusual experience. The toilet pressure was also very low to the point we had to flush twice. ||The bed mattress was so uncomfortable my back started to hurt from sleeping and at the same time I was sweating even with the air conditioner on. I've never had this happen at other hotels in Guadalajara. In summer or winter.||Lastly, somehow the ink from my hair stained the pillowcase and the Housekeeping brought it to the front desk and told me to pay $182 pesos for replacement. Did they try to launder the linens? If the towels are dirty do they charge all guests for replacement. I won't be coming back.||I've never had any of these issues at other hotels. Try Real Maestranza or Hotel Portelo for a far superior sleeping, customer service and...
Read moreMy husband and I spent three nights here. The location is good and central with only about 15-20 minutes walking distance from the main square. |Check in and check out were easy, rooms were clean with comfortable beds and bathroom and also very spacious. |The only down part was not having coffee/tea making facilities in the room and a small cup of coffee from the restaurant is a bit overpriced at almost $2USD. The rooms do come with a small ironing board and iron, a safe in the closet and television. ||The restaurant, Los Alcatraces Restaurant, was not very good. I had a beef fajita meal made from a cow probably older than me; good grief it was tough. |For some reason traditional Mexican restaurants are not very popular oddly enough. Seems Chinese places are the top restaurants in and around the area. If you are in need of snacks there are several OXXO and 7-11 stores nearby with both having a location a one-minute walk from the hotel. ||Due to the location and price I would say this is good hotel for a short stay in...
