For the price it was a great experience. Stayed 2 weeks. For a $200 peso deposit you can rent a room safe. Room service does a good job cleaning every day. The hotel restaurant was good price for pretty good food (I stuck with the Mexican dishes) and the restaurant staff is very friendly (I talked to them in Spanish, I think they know English but I can't vouch for that). The room was a little warm, but ok with the window open and fan on. Also a little noisy and some nights the pillows were a little hard, but we got used to it. We just wanted a clean, safe, affordable place to stay and hotel Diligencias met all of that for a great price. If you need lots of amenities and everything to be super nice, you might be looking in the wrong price range. But great place to stay if you just want a clean place to sleep. I'd give five stars because of the great value for the price, except for the experiences getting clothes washed.
There is a lavanderia in the courtyard right next to the hotel. I didn't really have the best experience with them but they did get my clothes clean, which was important to have close for a longer stay. You can drop off your clothes and they will leave them at the hotel front desk. The first time they did (clothes were wrinkly though), but the second time they never dropped them off and so I had to go for them. I also think they gave me a higher price for being a foreigner. The courtyard by the lavanderia also sometimes is full of people smoking marijuana. During the day I didn't feel unsafe though, and i avoided the area at night. Not exactly the hotels fault but since on their website they list the lavanderia next door as an amenity and that factored into my decision to stay there I dropped a star for that whole experience. Maybe they could put some pressure on the lavanderia to charge fair prices to everyone, make sure clothes are on time, and not have the clothes be so wrinkly. The lavanderia probably doesn't matter for a short stay, but for a longer stay like ours it's very important. If the hotel if going to endorse the lavanderia then they should make sure it gives good service since they are lending their reputation...
Read moreMost uncomfortable sleep I've had in my life. Only one of the crappiest pillows on the planet per person, hard mattress, thin walls.
Located near center of the city and also directly in a giant homeless camp. Front door is left wide open all day so homeless walk in and out as they please. Was asked for money by a homeless person while eating breakfast at the in-hotel restaurant.
No card to hang on door to refuse room service so every day I came back to my things moved around. Wifi barely works and disconnects constantly.
Shower sucks, mold and grime everywhere in bathroom.
Bed and floors were at least clean. Air conditioner worked. Staff is nice and speak English and Spanish. Busses to the airport and stations frequently. Food nearby.
Honestly just get a nicer hotel further from the city center it's not worth it to be so close...
Read moreThe location of the hotel was perfect. It's close to the historical centre, eatery places in Plaza Garibaldi as well as the Subway station. The room was with a ceiling fan - no air-conditioning. However, it was pleasant, not too hot or cold. The bed quality wasn't great, just okay.
The windows were left open in the room as well as one in the toilet, and I saw mosquitos flying around. The room without soundproofed, and I could hear footsteps outside the corridor as well as from the staircase.
The reception staff spoke excellent English, and helpful. However, with them losing our record in the hotel and claimed that we didn't check in, it had messed up their good score with us.Only after providing them with the credit card statement, they admitted it's...
